Adjusting the water softening system
Proper adjustment of the water softening system improves washing, rinsing, and drying performance.
Steps to adjust the system:
- Unpack the test strip.
- Open the tap and let water flow for approximately 1 minute.
- Dip the test strip into the water for 1 second.
- Remove the strip and shake off excess water.
- Wait for 1 minute.
- Make the necessary adjustment according to the test strip results.
After detecting water hardness:
- After switching on the machine, press and hold the Menu key for 3 seconds. (Note: Some models may require a single press of the Menu key.)
- Use the "<" and ">" keys to navigate until the water hardness setting indicator lights up (displaying "r").
- Use the Selection key to adjust the water hardness level according to your local water supply. Refer to the "Water hardness level setting table" for correct settings.
- Press the On / Off key to save the setting.

Perform the same hardness level adjustment on the regeneration adjustment switch as set on the control panel. For example, if adjusted to "3" on the control panel, set the regeneration adjustment switch to 3.
- If your water hardness is above 50°dH or if you use well water, using filter and water purification devices is recommended.
- If your water hardness is below 7°dH, you do not need to use salt. In this case, the Salt Indicator light will stay on continuously.
- If the water hardness is set to level 1, the Salt Indicator will light continuously even if salt is not necessary. If you add salt in this condition, it will not be consumed and the light will not illuminate.
- Note: When moving, reset the water hardness level according to the new location's water hardness. If previously adjusted, the machine will display the most recent setting.
