MSI Laptop Video Output Information
This document provides detailed information regarding the video output capabilities of various MSI laptop series. It outlines supported resolutions, refresh rates, and the types of display connectors available for each model.
Understanding Display Outputs
The External Display Output column lists the supported resolutions and refresh rates for each display port. The port listed first typically represents the connection on the laptop, while the second port indicates the connection on an external monitor.
The Display Ports column specifies the type and number of output connectors. Note that miniDP and Type-C with DP ports on the listed laptops generally support DP v1.4, unless otherwise stated.
Refer to the provided acronyms list for definitions of terms like DP/mDP (Display Port/mini Display Port), HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface), TBT (Thunderbolt), and iGPU/dGPU (Integrated Graphics Processing Unit/Dedicated Graphics Processing Unit).
The MUX switch is a feature that allows users to switch between MSHybrid mode or Discrete Graphics mode. This can be configured in the General Settings within MSI Center or MSI Center Pro on supported laptops.
To determine which graphics card a display port is connected to, consult the table or check the "Set PhysX Configuration" page in the NVIDIA Control Panel.
