Device Layout
The Marshall Major V headphones feature the following components:
- Customisable M-button: Push to start music with Spotify Tap. Can be customised in the Marshall Bluetooth app.
- LED Indicator: Shows battery level (charging: red to green 0-100%), pulses blue for Bluetooth pairing mode, pulses white when searching for a device, and is steady white when connected.
- Control Knob: Located on the right ear cup, used to control music, phone calls, and more.
- Wireless Charging: Charge by placing the right ear cup face down on a wireless charging pad.
- 3.5 mm Aux Input/Output: Connect the included 3.5 mm lead to an analogue audio output or to another set of headphones.
- USB-C Power Input: Charge the headphones using a USB power source.
Instructions
Getting Started
- Push and hold the Control knob until the LED shows a slow blue pulse.
- Select MAJOR V from your sound device's Bluetooth® list.
- Download the Marshall Bluetooth app and follow the in-app instructions to complete the setup.
Control Knob Functions
- Power on/off: Push and hold for 1 second.
- Play/pause: Push once.
- Skip backward/forward: Push left/right.
- Volume up/down: Push up/down.
- Receive/end a call: Push once.
- Reject a call: Push twice.
- Bluetooth pairing (headphones off): Push and hold for 2 seconds.
- Bluetooth pairing (headphones on): Push twice.
Charging the Headphones
Use a wireless charger or a USB power source. The LED indicator turns steady green when fully charged.
To charge using a wireless charger:
- Place the headphones with the right ear cup flat against the wireless charging pad.
- Ensure the LED lights up, indicating charging.
- The headphones are fully charged when the LED indicator turns steady green.
Spotify Tap
Access music recommendations from Spotify. Push the M-button to play a recommendation based on your listening taste. Push again for the next recommendation. Ensure your Spotify app is up to date.

Access custom actions selected in the Marshall Bluetooth app. By default, it activates Spotify Tap.
Connecting a 3.5 mm Sound Device
Use the included audio lead to connect to an analogue audio output. Ensure the sound device's volume is low before plugging in the headphones.
- Connect the audio lead to the 3.5 mm AUX port on the headphones and the 3.5 mm stereo output on the sound device.
- Ensure Bluetooth audio is paused and start playback on the sound device.
Connecting Headphones to Your Major V
Allow a friend to connect their headphones to the 3.5 mm AUX port on your Major V to listen together.
- Ensure Major V is connected to your sound source via Bluetooth.
- Connect the 3.5 mm jack of the other headphones to the 3.5 mm AUX port on Major V.
Cleaning Your Major V
Clean your headphones regularly to maintain performance and prevent skin irritation. Unplug all cables before cleaning and ensure the headphones are completely dry before charging or use.
Remove ear cushions by turning them anticlockwise. Clean them separately. To reattach, place them on the ear cups at a 45° angle and turn clockwise to lock.
Gently clean headphones, headband, ear cushions, and cables with a lint-free cloth, slightly damp with:
- Water
- 70% isopropyl alcohol
- 75% ethyl alcohol
Avoid moisture in openings or the speaker mesh. Use a dry, soft brush or cotton swab for these areas.
- Do not use sharp objects.
- Do not use compressed air.
- Do not use products containing bleach or hydrogen peroxide.
- Do not submerge headphones in cleaning agents.
- Do not rinse headphones under running water.
Battery Care Guide
To maintain battery health:
- Avoid fast chargers.
- Avoid draining the battery completely or charging when already full. Aim for 30%-80% charge.
- For long-term storage, charge to about 50% and perform a factory reset. Store in a cool, dark, dry place.
- Avoid hot (above 45°C/113°F) or unventilated places for use or charging.
- Avoid charging below 10°C/50°F and using below 0°C/32°F.
- Avoid strong mechanical shocks like dropping.
Use the Marshall Bluetooth app to select battery preservation settings.
Pairing a New Device
Major V can connect to two devices simultaneously and remembers up to 10 paired devices. It will attempt to reconnect to the last connected device when in range.
- Ensure headphones are turned on.
- Double press the Control knob; the LED will pulse blue slowly.
- Select MAJOR V from your sound device's Bluetooth list.
Resetting the Headphones
If headphones are erratic or unresponsive:
- Push and hold the control jog for 10 seconds to restart.
- If the problem persists, perform a factory reset (this deletes user settings and requires re-pairing).
Factory Reset:
- Remove MAJOR V and MAJOR V [LE] from your sound device's Bluetooth list and the Marshall Bluetooth app.
- Push and hold both the control jog and M-button for 10 seconds, release when the LED turns purple.
- Headphones are reset and ready to be paired (see Getting Started).
Troubleshooting
