iRobot Roomba 870 Caster Wheel Replacement

How to replace the caster wheel on your Roomba if it becomes stuck or breaks.

Introduction

The caster wheel aids the Roomba's maneuverability, enabling it to move and turn around corners. If dirt gets stuck on the caster wheel, it needs to be cleaned. However, if the caster wheel is broken, replacement is recommended.

Step 1 - Caster Wheel

Flip the Roomba on its back so that the wheels are facing up. ? The underside of the iRobot Roomba 870 is visible, showing the main brushes and wheels. The caster wheel is located at the front.

Step 2

Grip the caster wheel and pull it firmly out of its socket. ? A hand is shown gripping the caster wheel assembly and pulling it outwards from its housing.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
