Troubleshooting
If your AiMesh router cannot find any AiMesh nodes or synchronization fails, please check the following:
- Ensure your AiMesh node is powered on.
- Move your AiMesh node closer to the AiMesh router, ideally within 3 meters.
Relocation
Place the AiMesh router and nodes in optimal locations for the best performance and coverage.
NOTES: To minimize interference, keep the routers away from devices like cordless phones, Bluetooth devices, and microwave ovens. ASUS recommends placing the routers in an open or spacious location.

FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: Does the AiMesh router support Access Point mode?
A: Yes. You can set the AiMesh router to router mode or access point mode. Navigate to the web GUI (http://www.asusrouter.com), then go to Administration > Operation Mode.
Q2: Can I set up a wired connection between AiMesh routers (Ethernet backhaul)?
A: Yes. The AiMesh system supports both wireless and wired connections between the AiMesh router and nodes to maximize throughput and stability. AiMesh analyzes the wireless signal strength for each available frequency band and automatically determines the best connection type (wireless or wired) for the inter-router connection backbone.
- Follow the setup steps to establish a connection between the AiMesh router and node via WiFi first.
- Place the node in the ideal location for best coverage. Run an Ethernet cable from a LAN port of the AiMesh router to the WAN port of the AiMesh node.
- The AiMesh system will automatically select the best path for data transmission, whether wired or wireless.
Q3: Where can I find more information about Mesh WiFi systems?
A: Visit the technical support site: https://www.asus.com/support. You can also find video tutorials at https://qr.asus.com/wl_videotutorials.
