LG Minibeam Series Welcomes New Models: Battery-Powered Ultra-Short Throw "PH450UG" and Ultra-Compact "PH150G"

For Immediate Release

Date: August 26, 2016

LG Electronics Japan, Inc. today announced the release of two new models in its DLP-based LED projector "Minibeam" series: the ultra-short throw model "PH450UG" and the ultra-compact model "PH150G". Both models feature built-in batteries for enhanced portability and will be available nationwide starting September 16, 2016.

The "Minibeam" series is popular for its user-friendly projectors. Following the launch of five models in the Japanese market this May, LG Electronics Japan is now adding two more compact and lightweight models. Both new models come with built-in batteries, eliminating the need for a power cord. Furthermore, they support triple wireless connectivity: Bluetooth® for speaker connection and Wi-Fi Direct for seamless connection with smartphones, tablets, and PCs. This enhances ease of use and portability, expanding the range of applications for users.

The battery-powered ultra-short throw model "PH450UG" can project approximately 40-inch HD (1280x720) images from just 7cm away from the wall, and up to 80 inches from 33cm [Note 1]. With a battery operating time of approximately 2.5 hours, users can enjoy casual viewing anywhere without needing a dedicated screen. Its brightness of 450lm (lumens) makes it the brightest battery-powered ultra-short throw projector currently available [Note 2].

The lightweight and ultra-compact "PH150G" model features a built-in battery, 130lm brightness, and a palm-sized design weighing just 460g, making it highly portable. It is the most compact and lightweight model in the "Minibeam" series.

Key Features

LED Light with Approximately 6x Longer Lamp Life

While traditional projector lamps typically last between 3,000 to 5,000 hours, the LED light source boasts an impressive lifespan of approximately 30,000 hours [Note 3]. This significantly reduces the hassle and cost associated with lamp replacement. Additionally, the LED light offers quick startup, smooth power on/off, and vivid color reproduction.

Supports Bluetooth® and Wi-Fi Direct for Easy Wireless Enjoyment

Connect to external speakers or wireless earphones via Bluetooth®. Wi-Fi Direct allows you to wirelessly display content from your smartphone, tablet, or PC without the hassle of cable connections, enabling you to easily enjoy immersive audio and video. Wired connections are also supported via Slimport / MHL / AV Adaptor.

Supports Playback of Various Document Files

Simply connect a USB storage device to the USB port to play back files. This includes video, image, and audio files, as well as document files such as xls, xlsx, doc, docx, ppt, pptx, txt, and pdf for basic viewing. [Note: File playback is for display purposes only and may differ from PC functionality.]

Achieves Slim, Compact Design and Lightweight

The "PH150G" is the lightest in the "Minibeam" series at just 460g, with a palm-sized design for excellent portability. The ultra-short throw model "PH450UG" weighs 1.1kg, making it more compact than the "PF1000UG" released in May. The "Minibeam" series has also received numerous design awards, highlighting its aesthetic appeal.
