BWT COSMY THE BOT Robotic Pool Cleaner

Operating Instructions for Models 100, 150, 200, 250

Introduction

System overview: The robotic cleaner sweeps the pool floor and walls, collecting dirt and debris in its filters. This user manual explains how to operate the robotic cleaner, including cleaning, maintenance, and storage procedures. Note: This manual reviews several different models with variations in components.

Robotic cleaner operation: Once the robotic cleaner is placed in the pool and activated, it operates according to its program. It moves along the floor and walls of the pool, covering the entire area. When it has finished its program, it remains inactive on the pool floor, and power will automatically shut off. Note: It's not recommended to stop the pool cleaner prior to cycle end.

Note: Wall climbing is an optional feature. When enabled, the robotic cleaner climbs the wall at intervals according to its internal program. Its ability to climb over stairs is subject to stair geometry and material.

Operating conditions: The robotic cleaner is intended for use in residential swimming pools only under the following conditions:

  • Recommended water temperature: 22°C-32°C (72°F-90°F)
  • Water pH: 7.2 - 7.6
  • Chlorine level: Pool maintained according to manufacturer's instructions (Recommended: 2-4 ppm)

Note: Failure to maintain the pool according to recommended conditions could prevent proper functioning.

Components

The package typically includes:

  • Robotic pool cleaner
  • Power supply unit
  • Floating cable
  • Cart (optional)

Operation

Placement of the Power Supply

Place the power supply at least 3.6 meters / 11.8 feet from the pool and at least 12 cm (4.7 inches) above ground. CAUTION: The power supply is not water-resistant; it must not be exposed to water or direct sunlight.

Release the floating cable from its ties by pressing the plastic snap. Use only the necessary length of cable in the water.

Before placing the cleaner unit in the water

  • Ensure no people are in the pool.
  • Ensure filters are clean.
  • Ensure pool conditions are met (see "Operating Conditions").

Placing cleaner in the water

Unroll the floating cable. Extend a length of cable equal to the pool's diagonal size plus an additional two meters. Smooth out any coils or twists in the cable. Connect the floating cable to the socket on the power supply. Roll up excess cable outside the pool near the power supply.

Place the robotic cleaner in the pool and let it sink to the bottom. Do not start operation before the cleaner is settled on the pool floor. CAUTION: Operating the cleaner out of water may cause immediate and severe damage, resulting in loss of warranty.

Starting the robotic cleaner

Connect the power supply to the wall socket. The On/Off button will light up, and the robotic cleaner will start its cleaning program. If the power supply is already connected, the On/Off button will flash, indicating standby mode. Press the On/Off button to switch between modes.

Note: If the "Full filter" indicator light is ON, remove and clean the filter before placing the cleaner in the water.

Cleaning Cycle

During the cleaning cycle, the cleaner moves across the pool floor and walls, picking up dirt and debris. It changes direction and rotates automatically according to the selected program. It climbs pool walls at intervals as set in its internal program. Note: The cleaner may occasionally stop moving for a few seconds; this is normal operation.

Stopping robotic cleaner operation

The cleaner automatically moves to standby after each cycle, and the On/Off button flashes. To stop operation during a cycle, press the On/Off button once. The button will flash, and the cleaner will be in standby mode.

Pulling cleaner unit out of the water

  • Unplug the floating cable from the power supply.
  • Pull the floating cable until the unit is within reach of the handle.
  • Using the handle, lift the cleaner out of the pool.

CAUTION: Do not use the floating cable to lift the cleaner out of the water.

Power Supply Unit Indicators

The power supply unit connects to the cleaner via the floating cable. It is powered by AC and supplies low voltage and commands. The unit features a control panel with indicators:

  • a. On/Off button [power-symbol] (all models)
  • b. Full filter indicator [warning-symbol] (models 200 & 250 only)
  • c. Bluetooth indicator [wifi-symbol] (models 200 & 250 only)

Using the App

Starting the Robotic Cleaner via the App

  1. Download and install the COSMY App from Google Play.
  2. Open the COSMY App.
  3. Enable Bluetooth on your phone.
  4. The app will display discovered robots (e.g., RoboCleaner xxxxxx).
  5. Tap the robot's name to connect to the power supply. The Bluetooth icon will light up.
  6. Tap the On/Off icon in the app to activate the cleaner.

Language: Choose your preferred interface language.

Information Screen

Displays information about your Robotic Cleaner. Pull down to refresh readings.

Remote Control

Hold the RIGHT or LEFT icons to turn the robot. Single-tap the CHANGE DIRECTION icon to change the driving direction.

Alerts Screen

Shows different alerts received from the cleaner or power supply. Refer to the Troubleshooting section for required actions.

Settings Screen

Allows you to change the cleaner's settings:

  • Delay Start (in hours): The cleaner will start its cycle after a chosen period. This allows debris to settle before cleaning begins.
  • Operation Time: Select the cleaning cycle duration: 1.5 hours (floor only), 2 hours (floor and wall), 2.5 hours (floor and wall).
  • Work Interval: The cleaner will start automatically every 48/72/96 hours (this option cancels Delay Start).
  • Pool Properties: Select pool shape and surface type according to your pool's parameters.

Maintenance and Storage

Cleaning the Filters

Clean the two filters after each cleaning cycle. Press the button to release the filter, pull it out, open the filter case, and spray with water to remove dirt and debris. Reinsert the filter securely.

Storing the Robotic Cleaner

  • Disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Disconnect the floating cable from the power supply.
  • Ensure the power supply is not exposed to water.
  • Spread out and roll the floating cable.
  • Rinse the cleaner's interior with fresh water and let it dry.
  • Roll the floating cable and place it on the cleaner unit. Caution: Do not roll the cable on the handle.
  • Store all components in a dry, closed location.

Checking Water Outlet Propeller

Periodically clean debris and hair from the water outlet propeller: Remove filters, remove screws holding the water outlet cover, clean the cover, and reassemble. Reinsert filters.

Troubleshooting

Cleaner Does Not Turn On

  • Check wall socket for power.
  • Disconnect/reconnect power supply unit.
  • Try a different wall socket.
  • Check for obstacles in the drive system (brushes, propeller).
  • Check if the propeller is seized with hair.

Cleaner Moves But Does Not Pump Water

  • Filters are dirty; clean them.
  • Propeller is broken or seized with hair; check and clean.

Cleaner Pumps Water But Does Not Move

  • Check propeller for debris/hair.

The Cleaner Does Not Climb Walls

  • Verify it's not a floor-only model.
  • Ensure the correct program (floor & wall) is selected in the app.
  • Clean filters.
  • Check propeller for damage or blockage.

Warning

Do not stay in the pool while the robot is operating. Remove all items from the pool before operation. Do not leave the robot in the pool when not in use. The power supply must be connected through a Ground Fault Current Interrupter (GFCI USA) or a Residual Current Device (RCD Europe) not exceeding 30 mA. The connection to the power must meet local and national wiring rules. All parts must be replaced with original parts supplied by a BWT authorized service center. Keep out of children's reach.
