Setup and Placement
General Placement Guidelines:
- Ensure a minimum distance of 2 units for Sopra N°1/N°2/Center/Surround BE and 3 units for Sopra N°3 from the rear wall.
- Position speakers to form an equilateral triangle with the listening position for optimal stereo imaging (1 = 2 ≥ 3).
- For floorstanding speakers, adjust the tilt angle to direct sound towards the listening area (10-15° angle recommended).
- Bass level adjustment may be required based on room acoustics and speaker placement (Zone 1, Zone 2, Zone 3).
Specific Model Setup:
- Sopra N°1, N°2, N°3: Follow the diagrams for attaching spikes or protective covers and connecting cables.
- Sopra Center: Refer to the diagram for placement and connection.
- Sopra Surround BE: Follow the diagrams for wall mounting and connection. The Surround BE speakers can be configured in 'BIPOLAR' or 'FRONT' modes.
Connection Modes
The Sopra Surround BE speakers support different connection modes:
- 5.1 Bi mode: Connect Left Surround (SL) and Right Surround (SR) to the AV Receiver.
- 7.1 Twin mode: Connect Left Surround (SL), Surround Back (SB) for left, and Right Surround (SR), Surround Back (SB) for right to the AV Receiver.
- 7.1 Bi/Twin mode: Connect Left Surround (SL), Surround Back (SBL) for left, and Right Surround (SR), Surround Back (SBR) for right to the AV Receiver.
Important Safety Instructions
Please read and follow all safety instructions carefully:
- Do not use near water.
- Clean only with a dry cloth.
- Do not block ventilation openings.
- Do not install near heat sources.
- Use only manufacturer-specified accessories.
- Use only with recommended carts, stands, or tables. Exercise caution when moving equipment on carts to prevent tipping.
- Refer all servicing to qualified personnel.
- Do not expose to rain or moisture.
- Do not operate if damaged.
- Keep ambient temperature below 35°C (95°F).
- Do not use in tropical climates.
- Keep away from open flames.
- Mount on wall/ceiling only if permitted by manufacturer.
- Handle with care due to sharp corners.
- Do not attempt self-repair; contact qualified professionals.
- Use only specified replacement components.
- Test after maintenance to ensure safe operation.
- Turn source volume to minimum before connecting and gradually increase.
- Avoid listening at high volumes for extended periods to prevent hearing damage. Exposure to volumes above 85dB SPL-LAeq for extended periods can cause irreversible hearing damage.
- Keep packaging away from children to prevent suffocation risk.
- Supervise children and individuals with disabilities when using the device.

All Focal loudspeakers are covered by a warranty issued by the official Focal distributor in your country. Contact your distributor for details. The warranty covers at least the legal warranty in force in the country of purchase.
