This document provides instructions for using compatible toner cartridges with the following HP printer models:
- M455dn/M454dn M454dw
- M480f/M479 M479dw/M479dn M479fdw
- M255dw/M282/283fdw
- MFP M155/182/183NW
Scenario 1: Used or Counterfeit Cartridge Detected
Step 1: Initial Cartridge Installation
Visual: A printer control panel displays 'Used or counterfeit cartridges' with color indicators (K, C, M, Y). This is followed by a screen indicating 'installed' with an 'OK' button.
When the first time you install the cartridge, your printer will pop up the above messages. Press the "OK" button to continue.
Step 2: Printer Ready State
Visual: A printer control panel displays "Ready" with color indicators (K, C, M, Y) and a warning icon (⚠️).
When your printer displays "Ready", you can start to print. The cartridge chip is recycled and it will show ⚠️ icon, but it will NOT affect printing.
Step 3: PC Prompt for Continued Use
Visual: A PC screen displays the 'HP LaserJet Pro' title bar, a warning message "Used or Counterfeit Cartridge In Use", and options to "Snooze" for "2 Months" or press "OK".
When requesting printing from a PC, it will prompt the above message on the PC screen. Click "[Snooze button]" and select "[2 Months dropdown]" to hide it for 2 months. Repeat the "[Snooze button]" every 2 months to get rid of the message.
Scenario 2: Cartridge Very Low Warning
Step 1: Printer Ready State (after installation)
Visual: A printer control panel displays "Ready" with color indicators (K, C, M, Y) and a warning icon (⚠️).
When you install the cartridge, the printer displays "Ready". The cartridge chip is recycled and it will show ⚠️ icon, but it will NOT affect printing, so you can start to print.
Step 2: PC Prompt for Low Cartridge
Visual: A PC screen displays the 'HP LaserJet Pro' title bar, a warning message "Cartridge Very Low", and options to "Snooze" for "2 Months" or press "OK".
When requesting printing from a PC, it will prompt the above message on the PC screen. Click "[Snooze button]" and select "[2 Months dropdown]" to hide it for 2 months. Repeat the "[Snooze button]" every 2 months to get rid of the message.
Important Note on Toner Replacement
⚠️ When the printing turns light, it means the toner cartridge is about to run out and you need to replace it.
We reuse the original HP chips with the aim of creating eco-friendly toner cartridges and reducing electronics pollution.
