Suggestions and Tips

  • Mounting: Two-sided tape works well on clean, dry surfaces. Mounting screws are provided for a more permanent attachment.
  • System Capabilities: Contact Comtronics if you have questions about advanced features.
  • Controller Power: The controller has a battery backup but must remain plugged in. Do not plug into a GFI outlet or a 'switch controlled' outlet.
  • Sensor Location: If installing a sensor in a different area, contact Comtronics to rename the device location.
  • Sensor Range: Contacts and sensors typically work within 100 feet of the Lynx 5200 panel, though construction types or obstructions may affect this distance.
  • Motion Sensors: While pet resistant, false alarms can still occur. Contact Comtronics for assistance with your sensors.
  • System Testing: Comtronics recommends monthly system testing. Call 800-DIY-4757 (800-349-4757) to schedule a test.
  • Moving Residences: If you move your system to a new residence, notify Comtronics at 800-349-4757. Failure to report the new location may result in fees or loss of police/fire response.
