Installation Instructions
Follow these steps for proper installation of the Hilti HST4 (BW) M12 anchor.
Step 1: Determine Hole Depth (h1)
Calculate the required drill hole depth (h1) based on the nominal embedment depth (hnom) and the anchor length.
- 1a: h1 = hnom + 4mm
- 1b: h1 = hnom + 20mm
- 1c: h1 = hnom + 4mm
- 1d: h1 = hnom + 10mm
Diagram: Illustrates different required drill hole depths (h1) relative to the nominal embedment depth (hnom) for various anchor lengths.
Step 2: Drill the Hole
Drill a hole using a 12mm diameter drill bit (d0 = 12mm) at a 90° angle. Ensure the hole depth meets the requirement: hmin - h1 > 32mm.
Compatible Drills: DD EC-1, DD 30-W, DD 150-U.
Hammer Drill Settings: TE-CD, TE-YD.
Required Air Pressure: 6 bar / 90 psi.
Note: Repeat the drilling process 3 times (3x).

Step 3: Insert the Anchor
Insert the Hilti HST4 anchor into the drilled hole. This can be done manually using a hammer ? or with a specialized tool like the HS-SC.
Diagram: Demonstrates the insertion of the Hilti HST4 anchor into the drilled hole, showing manual insertion with a hammer and insertion using the HS-SC tool.
Step 4: Anchor Installed
The anchor is now fully seated in the base material. ❗

Step 5: Final Tightening
Apply the final tightening torque. For this anchor, the recommended installation torque (Tinst) is 60Nm.
Use an appropriate tool for tightening, such as an impact wrench (e.g., SIW 4AT-22, SIW 6AT-22) with a 1/2" drive socket (SI-S 1/2"-19 L).
Ensure a measurement of 19mm is maintained during tightening.
