Description
The ORION® Mobile M endpoint is a two-way water endpoint for mobile meter reading applications. It wirelessly captures current and daily readings, plus data profile information, without direct access. As part of Badger Meter's ORION family since 2002, it provides Advanced Metering Analytics (AMA) for flexible data capture.
Visual Description: A compact, rugged device, typically grey with a black cap, attached to a water meter, designed for environmental protection.
Functionality
- Operation: Continuously monitors encoder circuits, broadcasting readings and meter data to mobile devices.
- Activation: "Smart Activation" feature; endpoints transmit automatically upon detecting water usage post-installation, no field programming needed.
- Broadcast Mode: Transmits meter data every six seconds via two-way communication post-activation.
- Data Profiling: Stores up to 90 days of hourly historical interval meter data.
- Output Message: Broadcasts unique serial number, current/daily readings, and status indicators.
Application
Configurations: Integral, remote, or endpoint-only; suitable for indoor, outdoor, and pit environments. Electronics and battery are epoxy-encapsulated.
Meter Compatibility: Works with Badger Meter Recordall® Disc, Turbo, Compound, Combo, Fire Service meters, and E-Series® Ultrasonic and M-Series® Electromagnetic flow meters.
Encoder Compatibility: Supports all Badger Meter encoders and approved three-wire registers (2000+ manufacture date, AMR/AMI mode), including models from Elster, Hersey, Master Meter, Metron-Farnier, Mueller Systems, Neptune, and Sensus.
