3.0 Operating Instructions
3.1 Display Appearance
The display shows:
- Currency Type: e.g., USD
- Banknote Exit Direction: Indicates the direction of banknote exit.
- Number of Banknotes: Counts the total number of detected banknotes.
- Denomination: Shows the value of the detected banknote.
3.2 Turn On/Off the Machine
To Turn On: Switch the power button to 'ON'. The screen will light up and the machine will start self-testing. Upon successful self-test, the banknote count and denomination will display '0'.
To Turn Off: Switch the power button to 'OFF'. The screen will turn off, indicating the machine has been successfully powered down.
3.3 Button Functions
3.3.1. CUR/DIR
The CUR/DIR button is used to select the currency or the banknote exit direction.
3.3.1.1. Choosing the Currency
In detection mode, the IMC02 automatically recognizes the currency. The CUR/DIR button cannot be used to manually select currencies. In report mode, this button allows switching between currencies to view report details.
3.3.1.2. Choosing the Direction
Press and hold the button for approximately 2 seconds until a "di" sound is heard. Release the button to change the direction indicator. The direction is shown at the top of the display: 'Up' indicates the genuine banknote exits from the front, and 'Down' indicates it retreats into the feeding hopper.
3.3.2. REP/CLR
Press this button to view the count of each denomination. Press and hold for approximately 2 seconds to clear all records.
3.4. Inserting the Banknote Correctly
After detecting banknotes, press “REP / CLR” to enter report mode. The display will show the currency type, pieces of each denomination, and total value. You can switch to another currency by pressing “CUR / DIR”. If a banknote is fed while in report mode, the detector will automatically exit report mode.
Insert banknotes into the left side of the machine as shown in the figures. Incorrect insertion may cause the IMC02 to refuse the banknote or alert.
3.5. EUR/GBP Currency Detecting
To detect EUR or GBP currency, remove the banknote feeding limit block to accommodate larger banknotes.

4.2. Inaccurate Detection of Currency Detector
Several factors can affect the accuracy of the currency detector:
- The banknote size is outside the IMC02 specification range.
- The banknote is damaged (e.g., missing corner, tape, hole, tear, or folded). Counting such bills is not recommended, as shown in Figure 4-1.
Other abnormal operations or foreign objects inside the IMC02. If this occurs, open the front cover to inspect and clean the internal sensors.
4.3. 'ADD' function settings
Follow these steps to enable or disable the 'ADD' function:
- Press and hold 'CUR/DIP' and 'REP/CLR' simultaneously for 5 seconds to enter the selection interface.
- Press and hold the 'CUR/DIP' and ‘REP/CLR' buttons simultaneously on the d_1 interface for 2 seconds to enter the function selection interface.
- Press the 'CUR/DIP' button three times to switch the mode to P22. Then, press and hold 'REP/CLR' to change the value of P22. Setting P22 to '0' enables the Add function; setting it to '1' disables it.
