Equipment Description

The TX8005 Air XD Particulate Monitor is a real-time dust particulates monitor based on optical sensing technology. The Air XD is powered by a separately certified intrinsically safe power supply. Communication is provided via RS485 and Ethernet ports. The user interface is provided via a keypad and LCD screen. It features two 4-20mA circuits and two sets of Normally Open (N/O) and Normally Closed (N/C) relay controlled dry contacts. A USB connector is mounted on the equipment housing for connection of the Trolex TX8805 Air XD USB Drive for data download in hazardous areas. The main housing is of sheet metal construction, providing a degree of protection of at least IP54. The equipment has an integral particle sensor tube which draws external air by a fan mounted within the tube, passes it through the laser sensor, and then exhausts it back to the external environment. This certificate also covers the use of the TX8805 Air XD USB Drive with the TX8005 Air XD.

Terminal Identification Description

The diagram illustrates terminal numbering for external connections. Connector P1 (Power In) is labeled with terminals 1, 2, 3. Connector P7 (Relay contacts) is labeled with terminals 4 (NC), 5 (NO), 6 (Common for Relay A), 7 (NC), 8 (NO), 9 (Common for Relay B). Connector P5 (RS485) is labeled with terminals 10 (A), 11 (B), 12 (Ground/Shield), 13 (A), 14 (B), 15 (Ground/Shield). Connector P4 (Ethernet) is labeled with terminals 16-19. Connector P9 (4 to 20 mA) is labeled with CH2 (16, 17) and CH1 (18, 19).
