Connect the Hardware
If your internet connection is through an Ethernet cable directly from the wall instead of through a DSL / Cable / Satellite modem, connect the Ethernet cable to the router's Internet port, and follow Step 4 and 5 to complete the hardware connection.

From the Internet ☁️, a connection goes to a Modem. From the Modem's LAN port, an Ethernet cable connects to the router's Internet port. A power adapter connects to the router.
- Turn off the modem, and remove the backup battery if it has one.
- Connect the modem to the router's Internet port with an Ethernet cable.
- Turn on the modem, and then wait about 2 minutes for it to restart.
- Connect the Power adapter ⚡ to the router and turn on the router.
- Verify that the following LEDs are on and solid to confirm the hardware is connected correctly: Power ✔️, 2.4G ✔️, Internet ✔️, 5G ✔️.
Note: If the 2.4G LED and 5G LED are off, please press and hold the Wi-Fi/WPS button on the back panel for about 5 seconds to turn them on.
Configure the Router
1. Connect your computer to the router
Wired Connection
Turn off the Wi-Fi on your computer and connect the devices using an Ethernet cable as shown.

An Ethernet cable connects a Computer to the Router.
Wireless Connection
Find the SSID (Network Name) and Wireless Password printed on the label at the bottom of the router.

On a Smart Device, navigate to Wi-Fi Settings. Available networks include "TP-Link XXXX" and "TP-Link XXXX 5G". Select a network and tap "Connect".
2. Configure the router using a web browser
Launch a web browser, and enter http://tplinkwifi.net
or http://192.168.0.1
in the address bar. Use admin
for both username and password, and then click Login.

The web browser displays a login page for http://tplinkwifi.net
with fields for Username and Password (default: admin). After login, the Quick Setup wizard appears, allowing selection of WAN Connection Type (e.g., Auto-Detect, Dynamic IP, PPPoE).
Note: If the login window does not appear, please refer to FAQ > Q1.

Tether App
The TP-Link Tether app provides a simple, intuitive way to access and manage your router.

The TP-Link Tether app allows users to manage their network, block users, change wireless settings, view connected clients, and set up Parental Controls. To begin, download the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, connect your smart device wirelessly to the home network, and launch the Tether app.

The TP-Link router supports various features, such as Guest Network, Parental Controls, Access Control, and more. You can log in to the router's web management page http://tplinkwifi.net
