Product Overview

The Hilti HDA-T, HDA-TF, and HDA-TR anchors are designed for reliable fastening in concrete. This document provides essential specifications, installation instructions, and accessory compatibility information for the M10 and M12 anchor sizes.

Specifications

The following table details the key specifications for the HDA-T/-TF/-TR anchors:

Anchor Typetfix min - max [mm]df [mm]hs [mm]SW [mm]Tinst
HDA-T/-TF/-TR10 – 20212 – 6 mm (1/16" ... 1/4")1750 Nm (37 ft-lb)
HDA-T/-TF/-TR10 – 30232 – 7 mm (1/16" ... 1/4")1980 Nm (59 ft-lb)
HDA-T/-TF/-TR10 – 50231980 Nm (59 ft-lb)

Note on hs: The embedment depth (hs) is critical for anchor performance. For M10 anchors, hs should be between 2-6 mm (1/16" – 1/4"). For M12 anchors, hs should be between 2-7 mm (1/16" – 1/4").

Minimum Installation Clearances

To ensure optimal performance and safety, maintain the following minimum clearances when installing anchors:

Refer to specific project requirements and local building codes for exact values.

Step 1: Drill the Hole

Drill a hole into the concrete substrate using a suitable Hilti hammer drill and drill bit. The hole must be perpendicular to the surface [ perpendicular-symbol 90° ]. An eye symbol with an exclamation mark [ attention-symbol ] indicates this is a critical step. Ensure the hole depth is appropriate for the anchor size and base material.

Step 2: Clean the Hole

Thoroughly clean the drilled hole to remove all dust and debris. This is crucial for proper anchor performance. Use a Hilti cleaning brush and vacuum cleaner [ dust-extraction-symbol ]. A warning symbol [ warning-symbol ] highlights the importance of this step.

Step 3: Insert the Anchor

Insert the Hilti HDA anchor into the cleaned hole. The anchor should be inserted straight and fully seated. A red indicator on the anchor should be visible at the surface of the fixture.

Step 4: Install the Bolt

Place the fixture (e.g., bracket, base plate) over the anchor. Insert the bolt through the fixture and into the anchor. A red arrow [ insertion-arrow ] indicates the direction of insertion.

Step 5: Verify Embedment Depth (hs)

Check that the embedment depth (hs) of the anchor is within the specified range for the anchor size (M10: 2-6 mm, M12: 2-7 mm). A detailed view shows the correct seating of the anchor and bolt, with a checkmark [ correct-symbol ] indicating proper installation. A forbidden symbol [ prohibited-symbol ] indicates incorrect depth or seating.

Step 6: Tighten the Bolt

Using a suitable wrench, tighten the bolt. The installation torque (Tinst) is critical for secure fastening. A detail view shows the tightening process and a torque symbol [ torque-symbol ].

Step 7: Dispose of Packaging

Dispose of any packaging materials responsibly [ trash-can-emoji ].

Step 8: Apply Installation Torque (Tinst)

Using the specified wrench size (SW), apply the recommended installation torque (Tinst) to the bolt. This ensures the anchor is properly set and achieves its full load-bearing capacity. A diagram shows the torque wrench and the required torque value.

Product Label Information

The product label includes the Hilti brand, model designation (e.g., TE XX 0X), compliance marks (CE, UKCA), and important safety information in Japanese: "Please read the instruction manual before use." [ attention-symbol ].
