Getting Started
Use both hands to lift your machine out of the box, by its base.
Remove all protective packaging, including around the plug and cable.
Plug in and press the Stand-by on/off button on your Dyson air purifier to start/stop your machine. It will continue to monitor the air quality.
The Stand-by button [power-button] is located on the front of your purifier under the LCD screen. It is the centre button and has a power button icon [power-button].
The purifier features three buttons on the front: a fan icon [fan-icon], a power button icon [power-button], and an info icon [info-icon].
Connecting to the MyDyson™ App
Take full control with the MyDyson™ app and access step-by-step setup and support, control how and when your Dyson air purifier operates, monitor air quality with visual updates and automatically keep up to date with the latest software updates.
Download the MyDyson™ app from the App Store or Google Play.
Open the app and follow the on-screen instructions to create a new account.

Connecting to Your Smart Home Device
Using Amazon Alexa
Ask Alexa to enable the Dyson skill, to control your Dyson purifier or purifier humidifier. And set a routine that automates how your machine works with other devices in your home.

Using Siri
Connect your supported Dyson machines to Siri Shortcuts and you'll be able to control them with your voice, on your Apple device.

Wi-Fi Connectivity
Wi-Fi is turned on by default. To turn the Wi-Fi on or off, press and hold the Stand-by on/off button [power-button] on your machine for five seconds.
The LCD screen will indicate the Wi-Fi status.
The Wi-Fi status symbol [wifi-symbol], a dot with three arcs emanating, showing signal strength by how many arcs are illuminated. This process takes 5 seconds.
Continuous Monitoring
Continuous monitoring is turned off by default. You'll need to activate it to start measuring and recording your air quality (AQ) data.
With Continuous monitoring active, your Dyson air purifier will gather air quality information and display it on the LCD screen and in the MyDyson™ app.
Continuous Monitoring On/Off
You'll be prompted to activate Continuous monitoring on the MyDyson™ app. To turn it on or off from your machine, press and hold the Stand-by on/off button [power-button] together with the Info button [info-icon] for five seconds. The LCD screen will indicate the Continuous monitoring status.
The Continuous monitoring status icon [monitoring-icon] will be crossed and greyed out if it is currently disabled. This process takes 5 seconds.
Information Menu
Press this button [info-icon] to scroll through information monitored by your Dyson HushJet™ Purifier Compact air purifier. Information about air quality, filter levels and Wi-Fi status is shown on the LCD screen.
The Info button [info-icon] is located to the right of the Stand-by on/off button [power-button], labelled with a lower-case i.
Indoor Air Quality
Air quality graph shows the last 12 seconds of data.
AQ AUTO [air-quality-display]
Particulate Matter (PM2.5)
Microscopic particles up to 2.5 microns in size, suspended in the air we breathe. These include smoke, bacteria and allergens.
PM2.5 AUTO 044 µg/m³ [pm2.5-display]
Particulate Matter (PM10)
Larger microscopic particles up to 10 microns in size, suspended in the air we breathe. These include dust, mould and pollen.

Filters
Remaining filter life on the LCD screen indicates when filters need replacing.
Remaining filter life of the HEPA and Carbon filters on the LCD screen [filter-life-display].
Wi-Fi
The current status of connection to the Wi-Fi network.
The Wi-Fi status symbol [wifi-symbol], a dot with three arcs emanating, signal strength is shown by how many of the arcs are illuminated.
Auto Purify
Your air purifier is set to Auto mode by default when first switched on. The on-board sensor will intelligently adjust the settings of the machine according to the air quality.
Air quality: Your machine will pause when the target air quality has been reached, switching on again when the air quality levels drop.
Airflow speed: The airflow speed will increase to its maximum until the target air quality has been reached.

Set Airflow Speed
Increase or decrease the airflow speed from your machine or on the MyDyson™ app.
Note: Airflow speed selection from 1 to 10 from the MyDyson™ app.
Low
Press the fan button [fan-icon] twice (2x). Your machine's LCD screen will show 1 bar illuminated.
Medium
Press the fan button [fan-icon] 3 times (3x). Your machine's LCD screen will show 2 bars illuminated.
High
Press the fan button [fan-icon] 4 times (4x). Your machine's LCD screen will show all 3 bars illuminated.
Auto
Press the fan button [fan-icon] 5 times (5x) to set your machine to Auto mode. Your machine's LCD screen will show AUTO.
Sleep Mode
If your machine is not connected to the MyDyson™ app and doesn't have the latest software.
In Sleep mode, your Dyson air purifier will continue to clean the air quietly, in a lower air flow speed with its LCD screen dimmed.
Press the Sleep timer button [timer-icon] from the MyDyson™ app to scroll through the timer options.
To activate Sleep mode, press the Fan button [fan-icon] on your machine and then wait for two seconds (1x, Wait 2 sec) and the icon will appear.
When activating Sleep mode, the air flow setting will default to speed 4. The screen will then dim on the machine.
To de-activate Sleep mode, press the Fan button [fan-icon] on your machine and then wait for two seconds. The fan speed will then revert to the lowest speed setting.
Sleep mode is active when you see a crescent moon icon [moon-icon] on the LCD screen.
If your machine is connected to the MyDyson™ app and does have the latest software, the functionality is similar.
The icon for de-activating sleep mode is a crescent moon with a line through it [moon-line-icon].
If you exit Sleep mode, then the fan speed will revert to Auto.
Changing Your HEPA Filter
The MyDyson™ app and the LCD screen will alert you when your filter life is running low. Replacement filters are available to buy on www.dyson.com.
Switch off and unplug your Dyson air purifier.
Remove the Filter
The HEPA filter is located inside your Dyson air purifier. Press the filter release buttons [release-buttons] on the side of your machine and lift your machine upwards.
Remove the Carbon filter and put it aside.
Dispose of the HEPA filter. [trash-icon]
Diagram shows the machine lifting away from the filters. The Carbon filter is located inside the HEPA filter and slides upwards to remove. The Carbon filter slides down into the centre of your new HEPA filter. Then your machine slides over the filters and clicks into place.
Install a New HEPA Filter
Remove your replacement filter from any packaging. Place the carbon filter inside the new HEPA filter.
Place your machine over the filter. Ensure the slot on the HEPA filter aligns with the cable cover on your machine. Slide your machine down until it clicks securely into position.
Plug in, switch on and then reset your filter life.
Reset Your HEPA Filter Life
It's important to reset the filter life after replacing your filter.
Press and hold the Fan button [fan-icon].
The LCD screen on your machine will count down from five, then a tick will appear on the screen [tick-icon].
The filter life has been reset, and your machine is ready to use. (5 sec)
Changing Your Carbon Filter
The MyDyson™ app and the LCD screen will alert you when your filter life is running low. Replacement filters are available to buy on www.dyson.com.
Switch off and unplug your Dyson air purifier.
Remove the Filter
The Carbon filter is located inside the HEPA filter. Press the filter release buttons [release-buttons] on the side of your machine and lift your machine upwards.
Remove the Carbon filter from the inside of the HEPA filter.
Dispose of the Carbon filter. [trash-icon]

Install a New Carbon Filter
Remove your replacement filter from any packaging. Place your new Carbon filter inside the HEPA filter.

Plug in, switch on and then reset your filter life.

Looking After Your Machine
To always get the best performance from your Dyson air purifier, it's important to regularly clean it and check for blockages.
Always remember to switch off and unplug your Dyson air purifier before proceeding with any cleaning.
Cleaning Your Machine
If your machine is dusty, wipe with a damp, lint-free cloth.
Check the sensor inlets located around the back of your Dyson air purifier for dust and debris.
Look for dust and debris in the machine.
Use a soft brush to remove dust and debris.
Don't use detergents or polishes to clean your machine.
Remove the Nozzle
Rotate the nozzle anti-clockwise [rotate-icon] to unlock.
Lift the nozzle off your machine.
Use a soft brush to remove dust and debris.
The nozzle can be washed. Make sure it is fully dried before reinstalling to your machine.
