Quick Start Guide and Technical Overview
Introduction
The Nedap ASSY PS25 RFID R1 is a Point of Sale (POS) UHF RFID reader system designed for use in retail environments to detect and read UHF RFID tags at check-out counters.
Warning: This equipment must be installed, operated, serviced, and repaired by skilled personnel only. Installation and interconnection to facility wiring and other equipment require a competent craftsperson familiar with applicable standards and codes. Unauthorized or improper installation methods can lead to serious personal injury or property damage.

Physical Characteristics
Dimensions
The device measures 255mm (10.04 inches) in length, 210mm (8.27 inches) in width, and 22mm (0.87 inches) in height. The thickness of the casing is approximately 3mm (0.12 inches) on the edges and 20.1mm (0.79 inches) towards the center.
Connections
The ASSY PS25 RFID features the following ports:
- 1 - Service port/ HID (Cashdesk): USB-C connector.
- 2 - Power & Ethernet: RJ45 connector for Power over Ethernet (PoE) compliant with IEEE 802.3.
- 3 - Not functional yet.
Mounting Options
Engrossed in Desk
The reader can be mounted flush with a desk surface using an optional table mounting bracket. The required desk cutout is approximately 264mm (10.39 inches) wide and 220mm (8.66 inches) deep.
Under Desk Mount
The reader can also be mounted underneath a desk using the provided mounting clips and screws.
Status Indicators
Front LED Button
The front of the device features a button with LED indicators:
- Short press: Activates Sell mode (LED Green).
- Long press: Activates Return mode (LED Blue).
LED states:
- Green LED: On - indicates Sell mode.
- Blue LED: On - indicates Return mode.
- Red/Orange LED: On - indicates Booting device or Error mode.
Back Status LEDs
Three LEDs on the back provide status information:
- LED 1 (Green): On - indicates Power on.
- LED 2 (Green): On - indicates Debug mode.
- LED 3 (Green): On - indicates Ethernet Link-up.
- LED 3 (Green): Blinking - indicates Activity.
Power System
The ASSY PS25 RFID is powered via Power over Ethernet (PoE). Connect the device to a PoE-enabled network or use a PoE injector (not included). The device requires approximately 30 seconds to start up.
Initial Configuration
To configure the system, connect a laptop to the ASSY PS25 RFID using a USB-A/USB-C cable. Open a web browser on the laptop and navigate to the address: http://192.0.2.1. Follow the on-screen instructions in the installation wizard.
