1. Safety Instructions

⚠️ WARNING! Failure to obey these warnings could result in malfunction of your device and possible injury for yourself and other users.

  • Do not operate the device if it is visibly damaged.
  • Do not block the gaps of the device with things like pin, wire, etc.
  • Do not expose the device to rain or soak it in water.
  • Do not place the device near naked flames or other heat sources (heaters, direct sunlight, gas ovens etc.)
  • Do not store explosive substances like spray cans with flammable propellants in the device.
  • Before starting the device, ensure that the power supply line and the plug are dry.
  • Check if the voltage specification on the type plate matches that of the energy supply.
  • Once unpacked and before turning on, the device must be placed on a level surface for more than 6 hours.
  • Make sure that the device stays horizontally when it is running. The tilt angle must be less than 5° for long time running and be less than 45° for short time running.
  • The refrigerator must be well ventilated for heat dissipation and make sure to keep some space around it (Back Space≥200mm, Side Space≥100mm).
  • The device may only be repaired by qualified personnel. Improper repairs can lead to safety hazards. If the power cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, customer service or a similarly qualified person in order to prevent safety hazards.

ℹ️ NOTICE!

  • The device can be used by children aged 8 or over, as well as by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or a lack of experience and/or knowledge, providing they are supervised or have been taught how to use the device safely and are aware of the resulting risks.
  • Children must be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the device.
  • The installation of DC power in the boat must be handled by qualified electricians.
  • Disconnect the device or switch it off when you turn off the engine. Otherwise you may discharge the battery.

❗ CAUTION!

  • Food is suggested to be stored in its original packaging or in suitable containers.
  • Set suitable temperature for food or medicine stored in the device. Refer to recommended temperature for common food on Page4.

2. Product Features

  • High-efficiency DC compressor and conversion module.
  • CFC free and great heat insulation.
  • Lithium battery recharged by solar(12-50V), DC12/24V or AC 100-240V(using the adapter).
  • Fast cooling to -20°C/-4°F (based on 25°C/77°F room temperature).
  • LCD digital display for temperature setting.
  • Dual compartments with individual temperature control.
  • Three stage battery protection system prevents vehicle run out of battery.
  • Specific parts: wire storage baskets, interior drain plug, oversize wheels and telescoping handle, wire storage baskets, detachable battery, cupholder door, interior LED light.

3. Product Structure

The device features a cutting board, a left compartment, an LED control panel, a telescoping handle, and buttons. It also has footpads, a machine compartment, a door latch, a sealing strip, a right compartment, a handle (which is only a cover for a vacant port), a charging port, and wheels. Wire storage baskets, interior drain plug, oversize wheels, and a telescoping handle are specific parts. An interior LED light is also included.

* There are buttons on both sides of the telescoping handle; press them at the same time to pull the rod.

* Removable battery: press left and right to remove/insert the battery. The battery has a certain weight; it is recommended to hold it with your hand and take it out gently.

* The cutting board can be moved by turning the knob on the top cover; it is suggested to clean and dry it after every use.

4. Function and Operation

The control panel includes buttons for TEMPERATURE CONTROL, LCD DISPLAY, SET, and ON/OFF. It also shows USB, LEFT COMPARTMENT, and RIGHT COMPARTMENT status.

  • Power supply: Connect to 12V/24V DC power, 100~240V AC power (using the adapter), or use a back-up lithium battery which can be recharged by solar (12~50V).
  • Display Screen Initialization: Connect to the power supply; the buzzer will make a long beep, and the display will be on for 2 seconds then enter the normal operating mode.
  • Power On/Off: Long press the power button for three seconds to switch ON/OFF.
  • Function unlock: The panel locks automatically after 20 seconds of inactivity. Long press + and - at the same time for 2 seconds to unlock (indicated by the circle on the screen changing from clockwise to counterclockwise).
  • Temp adjustment of the left compartment: When both compartments are running, press + or - to enter left compartment temperature setting. Press + to increase temperature, press - to decrease temperature.
  • Temp adjustment of the right compartment: Press + or -. When the temperature on the left flashes, press to switch between left/right compartment. When the temperature of the right flashes, you can press + or - to adjust the temperature. The setting is saved after 4 seconds of inactivity (Note: the displayed temperature is the current compartment temperature; it takes time to reach the set temperature).
  • Temperature Setting: Under running state, long press + and ❄️ at the same time for three seconds to switch ON/OFF the left compartment. Long press ❄️ and ⚙️ at the same time for three seconds to switch ON/OFF the right compartment. Both compartments cannot be switched off simultaneously.
  • Cooling Mode: Under running state, press ▶️ to switch between MAX (fast cooling) and ECO (Energy saving Mode). (Factory setting is MAX.)
  • Battery Protection Mode: Under running state, long press ⚙️ for three seconds until the screen flashes, then press ⚙️ again to select protection mode H (High), M (Middle), and L (Low). (Factory setting is H.)

Due to different output voltages between vehicles, H should be set when the product is connected to car power, and M or L should be set when it is connected to a portable battery or other back-up battery.

5. Battery Operation & Settings

The battery gear should be set from H to M or from M to L if a voltage protection code F1 is shown on the panel. The battery gear should be set to H if the product keeps working after turning off the car engine, or the product may drain the battery.

* The voltage is theoretical value; there may be a deviation in different scenarios.

* USB output: +5V DC/1A, suitable for small devices like mobile phones, tablets, etc.

  • Temperature Unit Setting: Switch off the fridge, long press ⚙️ for three seconds until E1 displays, then switch to E5 by pressing ⚙️ again. Under E5 mode, press + or - to select Celsius or Fahrenheit. (Factory setting is °C.)
  • Reset: Switch off the fridge, long press ⚙️ for three seconds until E1 displays. Under E1 mode, long press + and - at the same time for three seconds to reset it.

5. Battery Operation

Note: The package does not include the battery. If you are interested, please buy it on BougeRV.com.

  • Battery ON/OFF: Long press the power switch button of the battery to turn on/off, short press to display current battery.
  • Battery charging: Charge the battery in the refrigerator: the battery will also be charged when the refrigerator is connected to power supply. But the power supply will mainly power the compressor when the refrigerator is running, which will cause the battery to charge slowly. If you want to charge the battery quickly, please turn off the refrigerator.
  • Charge the battery separately: Use a dedicated adapter to connect to the DC charging port of the battery (the dedicated adapter is not included in the package).

The battery unit has a Battery Indicator, Power Indicator, Power Switch, and Charging Input (DC). Model NO.: E0404-17301, Battery Capacity: 15600mAH, Rated Voltage: 11.1V, Charging Limited Voltage(DC):12.6V, Charging Limited Current(DC):3A. A warning states: 'Warning: do not disassemble the battery!'

* Note: When the battery is charging, the power indicator will turn green, and the battery indicator will flash to show the charging status.

Battery Saving: It is recommended to fully charge the refrigerator before your departure, and you can put your food & beverages in the refrigerator in advance so that the battery can last longer. Unplug the battery or turn it off to prevent self-discharge when not in use. *If the refrigerator won't be in use for a long time, fully charge the battery and turn it off.

Instruction for solar charging:

Insert the solar charge cable into the refrigerator's "SOLAR" terminal. MAX Solar Input Voltage: 50V; MAX Solar Input Current:10A. When connecting to a solar panel, please place the refrigerator in a cool place to dissipate heat. The battery icon on the refrigerator display will show the charging status when the battery is charging. The charging input power should be higher than the working power of the refrigerator (about 40-45W), or turn off the refrigerator to enter the standby state, otherwise the battery will not be able to charge. It is recommended to use a 100W solar panel.

6. Cleaning and Storage

Cleaning:

  • Unplug the device first to avoid electric shock.
  • Use a wet cloth to clean the device and dry it.
  • Remove the cover and drain from the hole at the bottom of the device.
  • Do not soak the device in water and do not wash it directly.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaning agents as these can damage the device.

Storage:

If the device will not be in use for a long time, please follow the steps:

  • Turn off the power and remove the plug.
  • Remove all the items stored in the device.
  • Remove the cover and drain from the hole, wipe off excess water with a soft rag.
  • Leave the lid slightly open to prevent odors from forming.
  • Put the device in a cool and dry place.

Defrosting:

Humidity can form frost in the interior of the cooling device or on the evaporator, which will affect the cooling performance. Defrost the device regularly to avoid this.

  • Switch off the device.
  • Take out the contents of the device.
  • Keep the lid open.
  • Remove the cover and drain from the hole.
  • Wipe off the defrosted water.

❗ Never use hard or sharp tools to remove ice or to loosen objects which have frozen in place.

7. Troubleshooting

The refrigerator has been disconnected for a period of time.
Food is frozenThe temperature was set too low, please increase the temperature.
There is a "water flow" noise from inside the fridgeIt's a normal phenomenon, caused by the flow of refrigerant.
There are waterdrops around the refrigerator casing or door gapIt's a normal phenomenon, the moisture will condense to water when it touches a cold surface of the refrigerator.
The compressor is slightly noisy when startingIt's a normal phenomenon, the noise will be reduced after the compressor works stably.
Code F1 displayedPossible cause: low voltage to fridge. Adjust the battery protection from H to M or from M to L.
Code F2 displayedPossible cause: condenser fan is overloaded. Disconnect power to fridge for 30 minutes & re-start.
Code F3 displayedPossible cause: the compressor starts too frequently. Disconnect power to fridge for 30 minutes & re-start.
Code F4 displayedPossible cause: compressor not kicking in. Disconnect power to fridge for 30 minutes & re-start.
Code F5 displayedPossible cause: overheating of the compressor & electronics. Disconnect power to fridge for 30 minutes & re-start.
Code F6 displayedPossible cause: no parameter can be detected by the controller. Disconnect power to fridge for 30 minutes & re-start.
Code F7 or F8 displayedPossible cause: temperature sensor is faulty. Contact manufacturer for service.

*For models with FSAK-002 detachable battery, if code F1 displayed, unplug or turn off the battery, or connect to DC12/24V/AC100-240V (using the adapter) power supply to power the compressor and battery in time to avoid long-term micro-current draining the battery.

8. Warranty and Maintenance

BougeRV PORTABLE CAR REFRIGERATOR comes with a 2-year warranty that commences from the date of purchase on BougeRV Amazon Store or BougeRV Official Website, except following situations:

  • Contrived damage.
  • Damage caused by force majeure such as earthquake, conflagration, etc.
  • Damage from inappropriate use or violating this instruction.
  • Damage or malfunction caused by disassembling.
