Getting Started
IMPORTANT: Clean the lint filter each time you use the dryer.
Drying Cycles (A)
- Normal: For cottons and most linens.
- Casuals: For wrinkle-free, permanent press, delicates, and knits.
- Delicates: For delicate items, special-care fabrics, and knits.
- Timed Dry: Set the Cycle Selector at the desired drying time.
- Quick Fluff: For freshening or fluffing dry items; provides 10 minutes of no-heat tumbling.
Sensor cycles automatically determine fabric dryness. Select 'Less' for slightly damp, 'More' for drier.
Temperature (B)
- High: For regular to heavy cottons.
- Medium: For synthetics, blends, delicates, and permanent press items.
- Low: For delicates, synthetics, and items labeled tumble dry low.
- No Heat: For fluffing items without heat (use with Timed Dry cycle).
Start (C)
Close the dryer door. Select Start. Opening the door during operation stops the dryer. To restart, close the door and select Start.
Note: Drying times vary by heat type, load size, fabric type, wetness, and exhaust duct condition.
Extended Tumble Option (D)
Minimizes wrinkles with approximately 15 minutes of no-heat tumbling after the clothes are dry. Available for Normal and Casuals cycles. A signal will sound to remind you to remove clothes.
Cycle Sound Option (E)
A signal sounds just before the cycle ends to remind you to remove clothes. If Extended Tumble is selected, the signal will sound during the no-heat tumbling period as well.
Note: Remove garments promptly at the signal. Hang clothes to prevent wrinkles. Use Cycle Sound for fabrics like polyester knits and permanent press.
Automatic Cycle Signal
At the end of each cycle, there is approximately 15 minutes of no-heat tumbling. A reminder signal will sound periodically during this time.
Loading
Always follow fabric manufacturer's care label.
Sorting and Loading Hints
⚠️ WARNING - Fire Hazard: Keep flammable materials and vapors away from the dryer. Do not dry anything that has had flammable substances or cooking oils on it. Items with foam, rubber, or plastic must be line-dried. Failure to comply can result in death, explosion, or fire.
Sort clothes by size and fabric type. Do not dry sheets with small items like socks.
Do not add fabric softener sheets once the load has warmed; they may cause stains. Bounce® Fabric Conditioner Dryer Sheets are approved.
Do not overload the dryer; this wastes energy and causes wrinkling.
Drying Rack (on some models)
Use for drying delicate items like washable sweaters.
To Install the Drying Rack:
- Lift the lint filter slightly.
- Place the rack in the dryer, lower its front legs, and hook them into the slots.
- Press the rack down flat and lower the lint filter back into position.
Note: Use the drying rack only with the Timed Dry cycle. Do not use with other clothes in the dryer.

Care and Cleaning
Interior and Duct
The interior and exhaust duct should be cleaned annually by a qualified service person.
Exhaust Duct Cleaning:
- Turn off electrical supply by disconnecting the plug from the wall socket.
- Disconnect the duct from the dryer.
- Vacuum the duct with the hose attachment and reconnect it.
Check exhaust hood flaps for free movement and ensure no wildlife (birds, insects, etc.) is nesting inside.
Exterior
Wipe spills or washing compounds with a damp cloth. Avoid using harsh laundry pretreatment products on the control panel or finish, as they may cause damage not covered by warranty.
Lint Filter
Clean the lint filter before each use. A waxy buildup may form from fabric softener sheets; wash the screen in warm, soapy water, dry thoroughly, and replace. Vacuum the lint filter area if performance changes.
NEVER OPERATE THE DRYER WITHOUT ITS FILTER IN PLACE.
Stainless Steel Surfaces
Clean with a damp cloth and a mild, non-abrasive cleaner suitable for stainless steel. Rinse and dry with a clean cloth.
Alloy Steel Drum (on some models)
The alloy steel drum is durable and will not rust or corrode if scratched or dented during normal use.
Drum Light (on some models)
Before replacing the bulb, unplug the dryer or switch off the circuit breaker. Reach inside the drum to remove and replace the bulb with the same size bulb.
Reversing the Door
Tools Needed: Phillips screwdriver, tape-tipped putty knife.
Follow these steps to reverse the door swing:
- Open the door and remove filler plugs opposite the hinges. With the door open, remove the bottom screw from each hinge on the dryer face. Insert these screws about halfway into the TOP holes on the opposite side where plugs were removed. Apply firm pressure to start screws in new holes.
- Loosen the top screw from each hinge on the dryer face halfway. Support the door with one hand and lift it UP and OUT to remove it.
- Remove the blind plate from the hinge side (two screws) and the strike plate from the opposite side (two screws). Reinstall the plates on the opposite sides, using two screws in each plate.
- Rotate the door 180°. Insert it on the opposite side by moving it IN and DOWN until the top and bottom hinges rest on the top screws inserted in step 1.
- Remove remaining screws from the original hinge side. Secure bottom hinges with these screws. Tighten the two top screws of each hinge. Reinsert the plastic plugs on the side from which the door was removed.
Venting
For best drying performance, the dryer needs to be properly vented. Improper venting uses more energy and runs longer.
- Use only rigid metal 4" (10.2 cm) diameter ductwork inside the dryer cabinet.
- Use rigid metal or UL-listed flexible metal 4" (10.2 cm) diameter ductwork for exhausting to the outside.
- Do not use plastic or other combustible ductwork.
- Use the shortest length possible.
- Do not crush or collapse ductwork.
- Avoid resting the duct on sharp objects.
- Venting must conform to local building codes.
⚠️ WARNING - Fire Hazard: This dryer MUST be exhausted to the outdoors. Use only 4" rigid metal ducting for the home exhaust duct. Use only 4" rigid metal or UL-listed transition duct. Do not use plastic vents. Do not exhaust into chimneys, kitchen exhausts, gas vents, walls, ceilings, attics, crawl spaces, or concealed spaces. Do not install a screen or booster fan in the exhaust duct.
Failure to follow these instructions can result in death or fire.
