Safety Information
Your safety and the safety of others are very important. Always read and obey all safety messages to reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock, or injury.
Key Safety Precautions:
- Plug into a grounded 3-prong outlet. Do not remove the ground prong or use an adapter or extension cord.
- Unplug the air conditioner before servicing.
- Use two or more people to move and install the air conditioner.
- If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified persons to avoid a hazard.
- This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless supervised or instructed by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the appliance.
- Dispose of batteries properly and do not dispose of batteries in fire.
- Never store or ship the air conditioner upside down or sideways to avoid damage to the compressor.
Flammable Refrigerant (A2L) Warning:
This appliance uses a flammable refrigerant (A2L). If the refrigerant leaks and is exposed to an external ignition source, there is a risk of fire. Follow all safety instructions carefully. Ensure adequate ventilation and avoid ignition sources.
Disposing of the Unit:
Consult your dealer for proper disposal. Incorrect removal of pipes can cause refrigerant leaks, leading to injury or environmental damage. Recycle or dispose of packaging materials responsibly.
Precautions for using R32 refrigerant:
Special precautions are necessary when handling flammable refrigerants like R32. These include compliance with transport and disposal regulations, proper storage, ensuring the work area is safe and well-ventilated, using appropriate leak detection equipment, having fire extinguishers available, and avoiding ignition sources. All maintenance and repairs should be performed by qualified personnel following manufacturer guidelines.

Electrical Requirements:
WARNING: Plug into a grounded 3-prong outlet. Do not remove ground prong. Do not use an adapter or extension cord. Failure to follow these instructions can result in death, fire, or electrical shock.
Grounding Method: The portable air conditioner must be grounded. Plug into a properly grounded three-prong outlet, installed in accordance with local codes and ordinances. If a grounded outlet is not available, a qualified electrician should install one.
Wiring Requirement: Power supply 115V (103.5V min. to 126.5V max.) requires a 15A time-delay fuse or circuit breaker.
Power Supply Cord: The cord has electronics that sense leakage current. If crushed, power is disconnected. To test the cord: Plug it in, press RESET, press TEST (should trip), then press RESET again (should latch). If it fails to trip or reset, contact a service technician. Do not use the cord as an on/off switch.
Location Requirements:
Place the air conditioner at least 20 inches from windows or doors. Ensure the unit is sized correctly for the room (see chart for BTU recommendations based on square footage). Do not replace, extend, or modify the exhaust hose. Allow at least 20 inches of air space on all sides for circulation. Do not block air outlets. Ensure easy access to a grounded outlet. Avoid kinking the exhaust hose.
- Window Types: The installation kit fits most vertical and horizontal sliding windows (18 in. to 50 in. wide/tall).
- Panel Configuration: Use the provided panels (HH, II, JJ, KK) to seal the window opening based on its size. Rivets (EE) may be needed for larger openings requiring multiple panels.
Unpack the Air Conditioner:
Use two or more people to move the unit. Remove and recycle packaging materials. Clean any adhesive residue gently. Keep the unit upright for at least 2 hours before use.
Window Vent Panel and Extensions:
The kit includes panels (HH, II, JJ, KK) to fit various window sizes (18 in. to 50 in.). The outer slider section (HH) has the main exhaust hole. Extension panels (II, JJ, KK) are used to fill gaps. Foam seals (LL, MM, AA) are used to seal the window frame and sash.

Care and Cleaning
1a. Draining the Air Conditioner (Non-Heating Models):
Unplug the unit. Move to a drain location. Remove drain cover (1) and plug (2). Drain water completely. Reinstall plug and cover. Reposition unit and reconnect power.
1b. Draining the Air Conditioner (Heating Models):
WARNING: Connect the drain hose in heating mode to prevent the unit from stopping.
Uncover the primary drain port (1). Attach the drain hose (2) to the primary drain hole (3). Ensure no leaks. Place the hose end into a drain, ensuring it lies flat and is lower than the unit connection point. Avoid kinks.
2. Cleaning the Outside:
Turn off and unplug the unit. Wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Reconnect power and turn on.
3. Cleaning the Air Filter:
Turn off and unplug the unit. Open the filter panel door (1) and remove the filter. Vacuum the filter. If very dirty, wash in warm water with mild detergent. Air dry completely before reinstalling. Do not use the dishwasher or chemical cleaners.
4. Storing After Use:

Clean filter and exterior. Remove remote batteries. Store remote with the unit. Never store or ship the unit upside down or sideways.
Before reuse: Ensure filter and drain cap are in place. Check power cord. Replace remote batteries. Install unit.
Troubleshooting
- Unit will not operate: Check power connection, ensure unit is plugged in, check household fuse/circuit breaker, ensure power button is pressed, check for local power failure, ensure too many appliances are not on the same circuit. Wait 3 minutes before restarting.
- Unit blows fuses/trips breakers: Check for correct fuse/breaker capacity. Too many appliances on the circuit.
- Power cord trips (Reset button pops out): Press RESET. This can be caused by disturbances, overloading, overheating, cord pinching, or aging. If it fails to reset, contact service. Damaged cords must be replaced.
- Unit runs too much: Ensure doors/windows are closed. Newer, more efficient units may run longer but consume less energy. Consider room occupancy and heat-producing appliances.
- Unit runs but room not cool: Check set temperature. Ensure filter is clean and air outlet is not blocked. Unit may be undersized for the room.
- Unit displays error code: E5 indicates a full water container; drain the unit. Contact customer service for E1/E2/E3/E4/E6/E7/EA.
- Unit cycles on/off too much: Check if unit is properly sized for the room. Clean the filter. Reduce heat/moisture sources in the room. Ensure louvers are not blocked by furniture or curtains.
