Product Details
Bluetooth Module Components:
- Smart Hub: Provides a convenient and secure location for the Bluetooth module.
- Bluetooth Connector: Provides a convenient connection for the Bluetooth module.
- Speaker (L): Provides the left speaker.
- Speaker (R): Provides the right speaker.
- Status LED: Indicates the device status.
- TAP Button: Used for various operations.
- Button Module: Houses the control buttons.
- DC Power Charging & Firmware Upgrade Port: USB port for charging and firmware updates.
- Pinhole Fault Reset Button: Small button for resetting the device.
- Microphone connector: Connects the microphone to the module.
- (+) Button: Increases volume or navigates forward.
- (-) Button: Decreases volume or navigates backward.
Installation
SMART HJC 11B compatible HJC helmets can be found at www.smarthjc.com.
For detailed installation instructions, refer to the User's Guide.
Step 1: Modular Chin Bar / Open & Full Face Visor Opening
Open the modular chin bar or the visor opening on open/full-face helmets.
Step 2: Helmet Module Cover Removing
Carefully remove the helmet's module cover.
Step 3: Helmet's Cheek Pad Take Off
Remove the helmet's cheek pads to access the interior.
Step 4: Button Module Installation
Install the button module into the designated slot on the helmet.
Step 5: Bluetooth Module Installation
Connect the wires and install the Bluetooth module into its housing.
Step 6: Microphone Installation
- 6.1 Modular or Open Face Microphone Installation: Route the microphone cable and connect it.
- 6.2 Full Face Microphone Installation: Attach the microphone to the chin bar area and route the cable.
Step 7: Speaker Module Installation
Install the speakers into the helmet's ear pockets.
Step 8: Wire Arrangement
Neatly arrange all internal wiring to prevent pinching or damage.
Step 9: Cheek Pad Fasten Up
Reinstall the cheek pads.
Step 10: Modular Chin Bar / Open & Full Face Visor Closing
Close the modular chin bar or the helmet visor.
Icon Legend
- Tap: Tap the specified button the specified number of times.
- Press and Hold: Press and hold the button for the specified amount of time.
Basic Operations
- Powering On: Press and hold the TAP button for 1 second.
- Powering Off: Press and hold the TAP button for 1 second.
- Volume Up: Tap the (+) button.
- Volume Down: Tap the (-) button.
Checking the Battery Level
Tap the TAP button once to check the battery level. The LED indicator will show the remaining battery life.
Phone Pairing
- Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your mobile phone.
- The headset enters Phone Pairing mode automatically upon initial power-on (blinking blue and red LEDs).
- If not in pairing mode, hold the TAP button for 10 seconds to enter the configuration menu, then tap the (+) button once to select 'Phone pairing'.
- Select SMART HJC 11B in the list of Bluetooth devices detected on your phone.
Using the Phone
- Answer a Call: Tap the TAP button once.
- Reject a Call: Press and hold the TAP button for 2 seconds.
- Voice Dial: Press and hold the TAP button for 3 seconds.
Music Control
- Play/Pause music: Press and hold the TAP button for 1 second.
- Track Forward: Press and hold the (+) button for 1 second.
- Track Backward: Press and hold the (-) button for 1 second.
Bluetooth Intercom
Up to three other people can be paired with the headset for Bluetooth intercom conversations.
Intercom Pairing
There are two methods for intercom pairing:
Using the Smart Intercom Pairing (SIP)
SIP allows quick pairing by scanning a QR code via the SMART HJC BT App.
- Pair your mobile phone with the headset.
- Open the SMART HJC BT App and navigate to the Smart Intercom Pairing menu.
- Scan the QR code displayed on your friend's mobile phone (your friend can display their QR code by tapping ⏯️ > QR code in their SMART HJC BT App).
- Tap 'Save' to confirm the pairing.
- Repeat steps 3-4 to pair with additional intercom friends.
Note: SIP is not compatible with SMART HJC headsets using Bluetooth 3.0 or older.
Using the Button
- Each user simultaneously presses and holds the TAP Button for 5 seconds until the voice prompt "Intercom Pairing" is heard.
- Tap the TAP Button on either headset to establish the pairing. The LED will turn blue.
- Repeat steps 1-2 to pair with additional headsets.
Last-Come, First-Served
When multiple intercom connections are active, the most recently paired headset becomes the 'First Intercom Friend'.
Two-way Intercom
- Start/End Conversation with the First Intercom Friend: Tap the TAP Button once.
- Start/End Conversation with the Second Intercom Friend: Tap the TAP Button twice.
- Start/End Conversation with the Third Intercom Friend: Tap the TAP Button three times.
Configuration Menu
- Accessing the Configuration Menu: Press and hold the TAP button for 10 seconds.
- Navigating Between Menu Options: Tap the TAP button once for each option.
- Execute Menu Options: Tap the (+) or (-) button to select an option and then tap the TAP button once to confirm.
Troubleshooting
Fault Reset
To perform a fault reset, locate and press the pinhole reset button using a paperclip. This does not reset the device to factory defaults. The charging LED is not the reset button.
Factory Reset
To perform a factory reset:
- Press and hold the TAP button for 10 seconds to enter the configuration menu.
- Tap the (-) button twice to select 'Factory reset'.
- Tap the TAP button once to confirm. The headset will reset to factory default settings.
