Function Introduction

The LEXIN GTX features:

Speakers

High-performance stereo helmet speakers are included. The detachable speaker-microphone design is compatible with most full-face, system, and jet helmets. The slim, high-quality speakers deliver clear audio. The microphone utilizes CVC and DSP noise cancellation technology to reduce wind and ambient noise, placing it among the industry's best.

Battery

Equipped with a large 800mAh battery, providing up to 18 hours of music playback or 13 hours of continuous talk time, and over a week of standby time.

Audio Priority

The GTX manages audio from different sources based on the following priority order (highest to lowest):

  1. Mobile Phone
  2. Intercom Call
  3. Music/GPS Guidance

Note: Lower priority audio will be interrupted by higher priority audio. For example, if a mobile phone call comes in during an intercom call, the intercom audio will pause, and the phone call will take precedence.

Safety Note: Please check your local laws and regulations regarding the use of mobile phones or communication devices while riding a motorcycle before use.

Installation Instructions

Mounting Base Installation

  1. Clip-on Bracket Installation: Spread the clip-on bracket and insert it between the helmet shell and the interior padding. Secure the bracket by clipping it onto the helmet. (Refer to diagram)
  2. 3M Adhesive Bracket Installation: If you prefer not to use the clip-on bracket, the 3M adhesive bracket can be used. Clean the helmet surface thoroughly to remove oil and dirt before applying the adhesive. Peel off the 3M adhesive sheet and firmly attach the bracket to the lower left side of the helmet. Press down for approximately 15 seconds. For best results, do not use the unit immediately after installation; allow 24 hours for the adhesive to set. (Refer to diagram)

Note: While a 3M adhesive bracket is provided, LEXIN recommends using the clip-on bracket. LEXIN is not responsible for any damages incurred from the use of the 3M adhesive bracket.

Intercom Unit Installation

Attach the GTX intercom unit to the installed bracket. The back of the intercom unit has rectangular tabs that align with corresponding rectangular slots on the bracket.

  1. Step 1: Align the tabs on the back of the intercom unit with the slots on the bracket.
  2. Step 2: Slide the intercom unit downwards from the top to secure it. Installation is complete.

Intercom Unit Removal

To remove the GTX unit from the mounting bracket:

  1. Step 1: Press the release tab on the bracket.
  2. Step 2: While pressing the release tab, push the GTX unit upwards from the bottom to detach it. (Refer to diagram)
Diagram Description: Shows the intercom unit attached to the helmet bracket, with a close-up indicating the 'push' action on the release tab, and then the unit being detached.

Speaker Installation

Note: Attach the speaker with the shorter wire to the left side of the helmet and the speaker with the longer wire to the right side. The speakers attach inside the helmet. If the helmet's ear pockets are deep, use the speaker pads to position the speakers closer to your ears.

  1. Step 1: Attach the Velcro from the speaker's magic tape to the helmet.
  2. Step 2: Securely attach the speaker to the Velcro. If the ear pockets are deep, use the speaker pads.
  3. Step 3: Neatly tuck the wiring inside the helmet shell and padding. (Refer to diagram)
Diagram Description: Illustrates attaching the Velcro to the helmet, then attaching the speaker to the Velcro, and finally tucking the wire.

Microphone Installation

Note: Use the wireless microphone for full-face helmets and the boom microphone for open-face helmets. Choose the microphone that best suits your preference and helmet type.

Wireless Microphone Installation

  1. Step 1: Find a suitable position on the center of the helmet. Attach the microphone's Velcro here.
  2. Step 2: Attach the wireless microphone onto the Velcro.
  3. Step 3: Connect the microphone to the speaker connector. Align the mark on the connector with the front. (Refer to diagram)
Diagram Description: Shows attaching the Velcro to the helmet, placing the wireless microphone, and connecting it to the speaker port.

Boom Microphone Installation

  1. Step 1: Attach the Velcro to the left side of the helmet.
  2. Step 2: Align the white triangular arrow on the microphone with the front of your mouth.
  3. Step 3: If necessary, use the microphone holder to position and secure the microphone. (Refer to diagram)
Diagram Description: Illustrates attaching Velcro to the helmet, positioning the boom microphone, and using a holder for final placement.

Faceplate Replacement

  1. Step 1: Remove the original faceplate from the GTX intercom unit.
  2. Step 2: Peel the 3M adhesive sheet from the new faceplate.
  3. Step 3: Attach the new faceplate to the intercom unit.
Diagram Description: Shows a sequence of three steps: removing the old faceplate, peeling the adhesive from the new one, and attaching the new faceplate.

Basic Operation

Power On/Off

Power On: With the unit off, press and hold the Power Button for 1 second. The unit will turn on, and the battery status will be announced.

Power Off: With the unit on, press and hold the Power Button for approximately 1 second. The unit will turn off.

Battery

Charge the GTX for at least 3 hours before its first use. Connect the unit to a charger or computer using the included USB cable. Any DC 5V-2A charger can be used, but avoid chargers with higher voltage/amperage. The red LED will flash during charging and turn solid blue when fully charged (approximately 2.5 hours).

Notes:

  1. Use the included charging cable. Other cables may not work.
  2. The main unit is water-resistant, but the microphone and speakers are not. After riding in the rain, wipe the unit dry and ensure the microphone, speakers, and connectors are also dried.

Battery Status Indicator

While in standby mode, double-press the Volume Up button to hear the current battery level. The battery level is indicated in five levels: 100% → 80% → 50% → 30% → Battery Low.

Note: When the battery is low, it can still be used for approximately 1-1.5 hours. The unit will provide a notification every 20 minutes.

Bluetooth Device Connection

Note: The GTX can connect to two smartphones and one Bluetooth device simultaneously. Once paired, devices will automatically recognize each other when in range and Bluetooth is enabled. When connecting to a smartphone, a single press of the Power Button will answer an incoming call. During an intercom call, a single press of the Intercom Button will return to the intercom call (if connected to other intercoms, a double press may be required).

Smartphone Connection

  1. Step 1: Ensure the GTX is powered off. Press and hold the Power Button for approximately 5 seconds until the LED flashes red and blue, indicating pairing mode.
  2. Step 2: Enable Bluetooth on your smartphone. Search for available devices and select 'GTX'.
  3. Step 3: If prompted for a PIN or passcode, enter '0000'.
  4. Step 4: Confirm that the pairing is complete on your smartphone.

Note: The GTX will indicate pairing completion with a flashing blue LED and a voice announcement.

Smartphone Calls

Siri Voice Command Activation

While in standby mode, double-press the Power Button to activate Siri or other voice commands.

Auto Answer

The unit automatically answers incoming calls after 12 seconds. This feature is disabled by default but can be enabled. After enabling, it will remain active even after restarting the unit.

Auto Answer On/Off

To enable Auto Answer: While in standby, press and hold the Volume Up button for approximately 6 seconds until the blue LED flashes 3 times. To disable Auto Answer: Press and hold the Volume Up button for approximately 6 seconds again until the red LED flashes 3 times.

Volume Adjustment

Press the Volume Up or Volume Down buttons once to adjust volume incrementally, or press and hold them for continuous volume adjustment.

Music Playback

Note: When listening to audio from your smartphone, you may need to adjust the smartphone's volume as well. If you are in Intercom Listening Mode and two audio signals are outputting simultaneously, adjusting the volume will affect both. If you pause one audio source, you can then adjust the volume of the other.

Intercom Listening Mode (2-unit GTX only)

This mode allows you to listen to music or GPS navigation while engaged in an intercom call between two GTX units. Ensure both intercom and smartphone connections are established before activating.

Note: This mode is not saved upon power cycling; the unit will revert to standard mode.

Intercom Reset

Press and hold both the Volume Up and Volume Down buttons simultaneously for approximately 3 seconds until the red LED flashes rapidly. This resets all previous pairings. It is recommended to reset before pairing.

Other Notes

Intercom Group Calls

Group intercom connections function like a chain, with each GTX unit acting as a node. For optimal communication range, maintain your riding order within the group. During group connections, Bluetooth devices (smartphones or GPS navigation) cannot be paired.

Starting Intercom Calls

It may take a few seconds for the intercom connection to establish after initiating a call. Please wait until the connection is made.

Communication Range

If units move out of communication range, you may experience static, silence, or connection drops. The GTX will attempt to automatically reconnect every few seconds until the connection is re-established.

Battery Saving

To conserve battery life, disconnect the intercom connection when not in use.
