Unpacking the Kiosk Computer
Unpack the Kiosk computer and examine the contents before setting up the device.
- Carefully remove the computer from the box.
- Verify the following items are in the box:
- Kiosk Computer
- Bag containing 4 M4 screws and a size 3 hex key
- Regulatory guide
- Inspect the equipment for any damage. If any equipment is missing or damaged, contact the Global Customer Support Center immediately.
⚠️ IMPORTANT: Leave the protective film that covers the screen on the computer until it is mounted/installed.
Repair or Replacement
Go to Request a Repair to request repair services for the device. Repair and replacement services of the KC50 are available for three to five years from the date of sale and can be purchased from OneCare Support Services.

Setting up the Kiosk Computer
Set up the Kiosk computer by connecting a power supply, mounting the device, and installing optional accessories.
- (Optional) Install a microSD card.
- Connect the device to a power supply.
- Mount the device.
NOTE: If you are using a Zebra stand, refer to the Installation Guide for detailed instructions on mounting the device on the stand.
- (Optional) Install the accessories.
Installing the microSD Card
Install a microSD card to increase the device's storage capacity.
- Orient the microSD with the contacts facing down.
- Push the microSD card into the slot until you engage the spring mechanism, and the card clicks into place.

Connecting to a Power Supply and Powering on the Device
The KC50 Kiosk computer requires an external power supply. Connect a power supply to power the device. You can use a DC line in or an Ethernet cable to power the device.
This guide includes instructions for a DC line connection to the power supply. For Power over Ethernet, refer to the Product Reference Guide.
⚠️ IMPORTANT: If you are using a Zebra stand, refer to the KC50 Stand Installation Guide to connect the power supply.
- Insert the MC18 removal tool (sold separately) into the slot in the back cover to remove the cover from the device.
- Connect the DC line to the power port of the device (labeled 1).
- Connect the DC line cord to the power supply (labeled 2).
- Connect the AC line cord to a power supply (labeled 3).

The device boots on when connected to a power supply. The device is ready for use.
Mounting the KC50
The VESA plate on the back of the device allows you to mount the device in many different ways. The device includes mounting holes spaced in 75 mm (2.95 in.) and 100 mm (3.94 in.) squares. You can mount the device onto a VESA mounting plate or create mounting holes in a wall, cabinet, or desk to secure the device in place.
- Use the correct hardware to mount the device.

- If you are not using the Kiosk Computer Stand as a mounting solution, use good cable management practices to keep the cables inserted in the device. Use cable ties or hook and loop ties to secure the cables and prevent them from disengaging from the device.
- If you are attaching the scanner to the device, mount the device so that barcodes can comfortably be placed 8 to 20 cm (3 to 8 in.) below the scanner.
Connecting the Scanner and Light Bar
The optional scanner and light bar accessories enhance the device's usability applications. The scanner adds barcode scanning capability while the light bar provides quick visual feedback about the device, such as scanning success, errors, or device availability.
- Determine the desired position for the accessories. The modular design allows you to pick any one of the USB-C ports to install the accessories.
- Insert the MC18 removal tool in the cover's slot and push the cover off of the device.

- Align the USB-C connector with the port.
- Press the accessory firmly until the USB-C connector is in place.
- Use a Philips head screwdriver to secure the accessory to the device with two M4 screws.
- Repeat this process for all accessories.
Open a relevant app such as DWDemo to ensure the accessories are powered and functioning.
Scanning Barcodes
Use the scanner accessory to capture barcode data.
- Open an app that enables the barcode scanner on the device.
- Position the barcode 8 to 20 cm (3 to 8 in.) below the scan window.
- Ensure the barcode is within the area formed by the aiming pattern. The green dot increases visibility in bright lighting conditions.

Reading NFC Cards
The KC50 supports reading NFC cards. Follow these instructions to read NFC data using the KC50.
- Open an app that supports NFC scanning.
- Hold the NFC card near the antenna, located at the center of the screen.
