Setup

The Tone2 Maker Kit can be connected to various devices for audio input and power:

Maker Guide

Driver Installation

  1. Install the Khadas ASIO USB driver: Download from dl.khadas.com/products/tone2/driver/.
  2. Restart your Windows PC: The driver activates after a restart.

Windows' default USB audio driver has high latency and low sampling rates. Installing the Khadas ASIO USB driver provides better performance and ASIO support.

Firmware Upgrade

  1. Open the Khadas DFU Upgrade Tool: Download from dl.khadas.com/products/tone2/dfu_tool/.
  2. Download the latest Tone2 firmware: From dl.khadas.com/products/tone2/firmware/.
  3. Flash new firmware to Tone2: Connect Tone2 via USB-C and use the DFU tool.
  4. Power off and restart your Tone2: To activate the new firmware.

* With the external Bluetooth Module plugged-in and Tone2 powered off (USB cable with 5V power still plugged-in), long-press the volume knob for 5s to clear the Bluetooth pairing record.

The Tone2 Maker Kit prioritizes power sources as follows:

* The USB-C (I2S) interface is not standard. Use specific cables for linear power supplies.

Light Interpretation

Volume Indicator (Turquoise):

Track Indicator (Red):

* HID volume adjusting refers to the system volume of the playback device.

Input and Filter Selection

* In 'S/PDIF' mode, playback controls are not supported.

* GPIO (I2S) input is supported only in the Tone2 Maker Kit.

Audio Format Indication (RGB Ring Light in USB mode)

DSD Format (White):

Encoder Locked Status

Encoder locked (White): Flashes 3 times when locked.

Power off (Grey): Indicates the device is powering off.
