Alphacool Eisblock Aurora Acryl RX 7900 XTX / XT NITRO
Installation Guide
Safety Instructions ⚠️
Please follow all safety instructions carefully. Incorrect installation can lead to damage.
Digital Guide Available: Access the digital guide for detailed instructions and compatibility checks.
Compatibility Check ⚙️
Before starting assembly, compare your graphics card with the images in the Alphacool configurator at https://www.hwconfig.com. Search for your graphics card or cooler model.
For definitive identification, compare the PCB number. This cooler is designed for a specific PCB layout. Manufacturers may revise card designs, potentially affecting cooler fitment on later models. Ensure taller components have clearance and the cooler does not damage the graphics card during assembly.
Alphacool International GmbH is not liable for assembly errors due to negligence, such as selecting an incompatible cooler.

Step 1: Prepare Graphics Card
Place the hardware on an antistatic mat. Begin dismantling the original cooler. Depending on the cooler's structure, remove screws at the back of the card and carefully unhook the fan connector first. If the original cooler uses thermal glue, exercise extreme care to avoid damaging parts. Pick up all items carefully. Clean the hardware of thermal paste or pad residues with a solvent, such as isopropyl alcohol.
Step 2: Place Thermal Pads on Cooling Block
Diagram shows the internal structure of the cooling block. Specific locations are indicated for applying thermal pads labeled A, B, C, and D. These pads are strategically placed to make contact with components on the graphics card PCB.

Step 3: Apply Thermal Grease
3.1 Cleaning: Use isopropyl alcohol (IPA) and a cloth to thoroughly clean the GPU die and any surrounding areas where thermal paste was present.
3.2 Application: Apply the included thermal grease (J) onto the GPU die. A common method is to apply several small dots or a thin line.
3.3 Mounting: Carefully align and lower the cooling block assembly onto the GPU die, ensuring the thermal grease makes even contact.

Step 4: Install PCB Components & Thermal Pads
4.1 PCB Thermal Pads: Place the thermal pads labeled L and M onto the graphics card PCB. These pads typically cover voltage regulation modules (VRMs) and memory chips.
4.2 Backside Thermal Pads: On the backside of the graphics card PCB, apply the thermal pads labeled E, F, G, and H to their designated locations. These often cover memory chips or other components on the rear.

Step 5: Mount Backplate and PCI Bracket
Attach the backplate and the PCI bracket (N) to the graphics card assembly. Secure these components using the provided screws (e.g., M2x11 screws).

Step 6: Connect ARGB Lighting
Connect the ARGB lighting cable using the provided ARGB adapter (O). This cable typically connects to your motherboard's ARGB header or an external ARGB controller (like the Aurora Eiscontrol, Article no.: 15360).

Step 7: Screw in Screw Plugs
Use the plug tool (P) to screw in the G1/4" plugs (Q) into the designated ports on the water block. These are typically used to seal unused ports or connect fittings.
