Preparation for Installation
- Shut off power at the circuit breaker and completely remove the old fixture from the ceiling.
- Remove the new mounting bracket assembly from the bag.
- Ensure the threaded post (C) is attached to the mounting bracket (D) with a hex nut (A). The other end should have the canopy loop (E) attached.
- Unscrew the canopy loop ring (H) from the canopy loop (E).
- Adjust the position of the threaded post (C) on the mounting bracket (D) to ensure the canopy (G) will be flush with the ceiling and cover at least half of the canopy loop (E) threads. Tighten hex nut (A) to secure the post (C).
Fixture Assembly
- Determine the correct number of stems (L, M) and chain (J) for the desired hanging height. Add stems to lengthen, or trim wires and remove excess stems to shorten.
- Attach one quick-connect link (I) to each end of the chain (J).
- Thread the fixture wires through the stems and pull taut. Ensure all threads are engaged but do not overtighten.
- Screw the bottom stem onto the fixture's threaded post (N).
- Thread the wires through the hanging ring (K) and screw it to the top stem.
- Use a quick-connect link (I) to attach the chain (J) to the hanging ring (K) and close securely.
- Feed the fixture wires up through the chain (approximately every three links), pulling taut.
- Slide the canopy loop ring (H) and canopy (G) onto the chain/wire.
- Use the remaining quick-connect link (I) to attach the chain (J) to the canopy loop (E) and close securely.
Connecting the Wires
Connect the fixture wires to the power supply wires from the junction box:
- Fixture Black Wire (or Smooth) to House Black Wire (Live)
- Fixture White Wire (or Ribbed) to House White Wire (Neutral)
- Fixture Bare Copper Wire (or Green) to House Green or Copper Wire (Grounding)
Twist the ends of each wire pair together and secure with a wire connector. Ensure all twists are in the same direction.
Loop the fixture's ground wire around the grounding screw (B) and tighten. If the junction box does not have a ground wire, contact a qualified electrician.
Finishing the Installation
- Place the canopy (G) flush to the ceiling and slide the canopy loop ring (H) up beneath the canopy.
- Tightly screw the canopy loop ring (H) onto the canopy loop (E) to secure the canopy (G).
- Install light bulbs (not included) according to fixture specifications. Do not exceed the recommended wattage.
- Attach one hex nut (Q) to the end of the threaded post (P) and screw that end of post (P) into the bracket on the bottom of the sockets.
- Slide the glass plate (R) over the threaded post (P) and secure it with the decorative washer (S) and the other hex nut (T).
- Screw the finial cap (U) onto the threaded post (P). If post (P) protrudes too far through the glass, adjust the position of hex nut (Q) to allow post (P) to screw further into the bracket.
- Your installation is now completed. Turn on the power and test the fixture.
Cleaning Tips
Treat the fixture gently. Regular cleaning reduces the need for deep cleaning.
For regular cleaning, turn off the light and wipe down the fixture with a clean lint-free cotton or microfiber cloth. Never spray cleaner directly onto the fixture.
Important Notes
Notice
To use a 12-inch stem by itself, you must first remove the threaded post from the 6-inch stem and install it on one of the ends of the 12-inch stem.
Hunter Pro Tip
Twist or tape wire ends together to make it easier to pass them through the downrods. The threaded post may also be removed for easier wire access.
