BADRING Water Leakage Sensor

Introduction

The IKEA BADRING water sensor is designed to detect the presence of water in indoor environments and trigger an alarm. It integrates with the DIRIGERA hub and the IKEA Home smart app, providing timely notifications of water leaks, even when you are away from home.

Getting Started

The sensor can be set up either with or without a DIRIGERA hub. For setup, open the sensor's back compartment, insert an AAA/HR03 battery, close the compartment, and place the sensor in the desired location. For smart features, download the IKEA Home smart app from the App Store or Google Play Store and follow the on-screen instructions.

Product Features & Usage

This sensor is suitable for use in damp locations such as bathrooms, laundry rooms, or basements. It features two metal prongs on the underside that activate the alarm upon contact with water. Silicone feet prevent movement, eliminating the need for adhesives that could obstruct water flow.

Testing & Maintenance

It is recommended to test the alarm by placing the sensor with its metal prongs facing down in a small amount of water (1-2 mm). The alarm will stop when the prongs dry. For cleaning, use a soft, damp cloth with mild detergent, and dry with another soft cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or chemical solvents.

Safety & Technical Data

The sensor is for indoor use only, operating between 0°C and 40°C. Avoid direct sunlight or heat sources to prevent overheating. Different building materials may affect wireless range. Warning: Risk of explosion if the battery is replaced with an incorrect type. Dispose of used batteries according to instructions.
