2 Overview
2.1 Buttons and LEDs
The headphones feature buttons and LEDs for control and status indication. The left earcup has buttons for volume control (+/-), playback/pause, and ambient aware mode. The right earcup has a power/Bluetooth button and a microphone.
2.2 Connections
The headphones have a 2.5mm audio jack and a Micro USB port for charging.
3 Bluetooth Pairing
3.1 Turn On the Headphone
To turn on the headphones, slide the power switch to the 'ON' position. The LED indicator will show the power status.
3.2 Pairing Mode
When connecting for the first time, the headphones automatically enter pairing mode after being powered on.
3.3 Connect to Bluetooth Devices
On your device, go to Bluetooth settings and select 'AKG Y500 Wireless' to connect.
Note: The headphones will power off automatically after 30 minutes of inactivity or playback.
4 Buttons Functionality
4.1 Music Control
Use the buttons to control music playback:
- Slide up: Next track
- Slide down: Previous track
- Middle slide: Play/Pause
4.2 Phone Call
Use the buttons to manage phone calls:
- Press the button once to answer or end a call.
- Press and hold the button to reject an incoming call.
4.3 Ambient Aware
Activate the Ambient Aware feature to stay in touch with your surroundings while listening to music.
4.5 Voice Assistant
Press the power button twice to activate Siri® or Google Now™.
5 Seamlessly Switch Between Devices
The headphones can be connected to two devices simultaneously. Phone calls always take priority. If one device goes out of Bluetooth range or powers off, you may need to manually reconnect the remaining device.
- Pair and connect the headphone with the 1st device (See Section 3 Bluetooth Pairing).
- Pair and connect the headphone with the 2nd Bluetooth device.
- Connect to Bluetooth device.
Note: A maximum of 2 devices can be connected simultaneously. Phone calls will always take priority. If one device goes out of Bluetooth range or powers off, you may need to manually reconnect the remaining device.
6 Auto-Play/Pause
To activate/deactivate this function, press and hold the two buttons on the right earcup simultaneously for 5 seconds.
Note: Auto-Play/Pause is active every time the headphone is powered on.
