Legionella Can't Hide from Watts® UV-COM
Watts UV-COM provides a highly effective and easy-to-maintain ultraviolet light disinfection solution designed to defend building occupants against legionella. Powered by Crossfire™ Technology, UV-COM's dual-lamp design delivers 360-degree UV light emission, significantly reducing shielding by solid particles and providing powerful disinfection of your customer's potable water.
Key Features and Benefits
Wide Range of Potable Applications
Available in five models for commercial potable water applications, such as drinking water systems and domestic hot water applications (up to 130°F), ranging from 16.5 GPM to 100 GPM.
Solves Common UV Disinfection Challenges
Provides solutions to common UV performance challenges, including shadowing, hard water pretreatment, the impact of cold water, no-flow and low-flow conditions, overheating of UV lamps, and quartz sleeve fouling.
High Performance in Low UVT Conditions
Effectively disinfects at hardness levels as high as 50 GPG (grains per gallon) and iron levels up to 3 mg/L, neutralizing up to 99.9999% (6-log) for legionella.
Self-Cleaning Low Maintenance Design
Features easy lamp replacement, automatic self-cleaning wipers, and built-in purging to reduce fouling of the quartz sleeve for superior disinfection performance in difficult water applications.
Reduce Environmental Impact
UV disinfection requires no harsh chemicals and produces no harmful disinfection byproducts.
Superior Disinfection Performance with Crossfire™ Technology
The Crossfire™ Technology system is engineered for optimal UV disinfection. It features a dual-lamp design within a reactor chamber, surrounded by an elliptical UV reflector to maximize light distribution. Key components include UV lamps, UV intensity sensors, UV transmittance sensors, a quartz sleeve, and a self-cleaning mechanism. This design ensures 360° coverage and efficient disinfection.
360° Coverage
Reliably disinfects water with UV Transmittance (UVT) as low as 35%, compared to the minimum 75% required by conventional systems. This can eliminate the need for pre-disinfection softening or other scale control solutions, saving customers money.
Smart Sensors
Multiple smart sensors continually monitor UV dose, transmittance, and lamp intensity in real time to eliminate false alarms and minimize downtime.
Safe & Easy Maintenance
Lamps are located in the reactor chamber for easy replacement, removing the risk of breaking the quartz sleeve. Built-in electrical, mechanical, and thermal safeguards control contact with potentially harmful elements during maintenance and repairs.
Low Operating Costs
Designed to reduce recurring costs associated with manual chemical cleaning, time-consuming lamp changes, and quartz replacement due to accidental breakage during maintenance.
