Rain Bird Landscape Dripline System

The Rain Bird Landscape Dripline System offers a faster, smarter way to drip irrigate, providing precise watering for healthy, beautiful landscaping.

Advantages:

  • Fewer Weeds: Waters each plant directly, not the surrounding soil.
  • Faster Growth: Applies moisture directly to the root zone.
  • Longer Lasting Blooms: Proper watering promotes healthy plants.
  • Healthier Plants: Keeps water off foliage, preventing fungal growth.
  • Saves Water: Irrigates precisely where needed, eliminating overspray and reducing evaporation.
  • Simplicity: Easy three-step process to create a custom drip system.

System Features:

Unlike soaker hoses, the Rain Bird Landscape Dripline System is clog-resistant and waters evenly over long distances (up to 300 feet). It connects easily to faucets, garden hoses, existing sprinkler heads, or 1/2" risers. The system is versatile, simple to cut, connect, and place without digging, conforming to landscaping and allowing for staking and mulching. Spot Watering Emitters can be inserted for targeted watering of trees, potted plants, or other areas needing extra water.

It works like a soaker hose, but offers improved performance.

Water Source Options & Connection Kits

To connect your Landscape Dripline System to a water source, Rain Bird offers two connection kits:

1. FC-KIT Faucet Connection Kit:

If You Have: An Outdoor Faucet

You Need: The FC-KIT Faucet Connection Kit. This kit includes:

  • Water Source connection (for outdoor faucet or hose)
  • 150 mesh filter (pre-installed inside Backflow Preventer)
  • Backflow preventer
  • 25 psi regulator
  • Adaptor
  • 1/2" Tubing

This kit is the simplest connection method and ensures proper operation of your drip irrigation system.

2. RC-KIT Riser Connection Kit:

If You Have: An Existing Rain Bird 1800® spray head or any 1/2" riser

You Need: The RC-KIT Riser Connection Kit.

This kit is ideal for converting an underground irrigation spray head or mounting on any riser. It is sized for easy conversion of a Rain Bird® 1806 pop-up spray head and connects to other standard 1/2" irrigation fittings. It's an all-in-one unit including a filter, 30psi regulator, and swivel tee.

Important Considerations for Connection Kits:

One of these kits must be used for proper system operation. Both kits include:

  • Pressure regulator to avoid excess flow.
  • Back-flow preventer to stop water from flowing back into your home's system.
  • Filter to trap rust and sediment, ensuring emitters flow trouble-free.
  • Easy, leak-proof connections.

Note on Pressure: Minimum operating pressure for a drip system is 15psi; maximum is 25-30 psi. The FCKIT and RCKIT regulators reduce higher pressures. The kits also include a 150-200 mesh filter to protect emitters.

CAUTION: Not using the pressure regulator and filter may damage your system.

CUT & CONNECT: Assembling Your System

The system is designed for easy cutting and connecting of tubing and fittings.

Key Components and Connections:

  • Faucet Connection Kit: Connects to an outdoor faucet.
  • Riser Connection Kit: Optional water source using the RC-KIT.
  • 1/2" Tubing: The main water line.
  • 1/2" Barbed Tee: Connects three pieces of 1/2" tubing in a "T" shape.
  • 1/4" Tubing Stake: Holds 1/4" tubing in place.
  • 1/2" Barbed Coupling: Connects two pieces of 1/2" tubing.
  • Galvanized Stake: Secures 1/2" tubing to the ground.
  • 1/4" Tubing Plug: Used as an end closure for 1/4" tubing or as a side plug for 1/2" tubing.
  • 1/4" Emitter Tubing: Used to extend water to narrow planting areas or potted plants.
  • 1/4" Tubing: Smaller diameter tubing for specific applications.
  • 1/4" Barbed Tee: Connects three pieces of 1/4" tubing in a "T" shape or taps into 1/2" tubing.
  • 1/2" Barbed Elbow: Connects two pieces of 1/2" tubing in an "L" shape.
  • Tubing Plug: Seals holes made by emitters or fittings.
  • End Closure: Used to close the end of the line after flushing the system.

TIP: For trees, place spot watering emitters 2/3 of the way between the tree trunk and the outside of the canopy. If a tree requires more than one emitter, space them equally around the trunk.

Using Spot Watering Emitters & 1/4" Tubing Stakes

Tap off the 1/2" Tubing to install Spot Watering Emitters and 1/4" Tubing. Black Spot Watering Emitters provide a controlled flow of 1.0 GPH, while Red Spot Watering Emitters are rated for 2.0 GPH. The tubing can be secured with 1/4" Tubing Stakes. A bug guard (attached to the stake) can be placed at the end of the tubing to prevent clogging from insects and debris.

Ideal Applications:

  • Extending irrigation to widely spaced plants or trees.
  • Increasing water flow to selected plants as needed.

Spot Watering Emitter Specifications:
