VIMAR 692U / 692U/C Video Intercom Camera Units
This document provides installation and operation instructions for the VIMAR 692U (Black & White) and 692U/C (Color) video intercom camera units, designed for VIMAR 8100 series entrance panels.
Product Overview
The VIMAR 692U is a B/W camera unit with an external unit, while the 692U/C is a color camera unit with an audio external unit. Both models are designed for installation on VIMAR 8100 series entrance panels.

Camera Adjustments
Adjustments on the back of the camera:
- External Volume: Trimmer adjustment.
- Camera Activation Time: Trimmer adjustment for Call, Conversation, Self-Start modes.
- Lock Activation Time: Trimmer adjustment (1-30 seconds).

Installation
Installation phases:
- Install entrance panel.
- Wire cables.
- Connect external unit to system.
- Program external unit.
Note: Connect terminal block only after wiring (green, black, white) to the panel.

Wiring Connections
- Red/Black wire: "ENGAGED-PLEASE WAIT" connector.
- Green wires: Entrance panel push-button.
- Black/White wires: Entrance panel LED.
Terminal Descriptions
- S: Lock (open collector)
- TEL: Not used
- B1: 2-Wire Bus
- B2: 2-Wire Bus
- M: Ground / Video Ground
- PA: Open door input (connect to M).
- CA: Door lock release (connect to M).
- M: Ground
- 12V: Output +12V max 100mA.
Operation
Assigning Call Push-Button
Procedure: Press reset, hold call, release reset. Wait 2s for tone. Release call button within 2s. Within 25s, press an actuator button on an interphone/video interphone to associate it. A tone confirms assignment. Timeout tone if failed.
Caution: Using lock release button may open the connected lock.
Call Functionality
Ringtone is regenerated (1s sound/2s pause). Monitor activates immediately. Answer by lifting handset or pressing hook. Conversation duration is panel-set. Subsequent calls within 10s allow direct answer.
Ringtone Muting
Indicated by short "Beeps" if call to muted unit.
Engaged Status
"ENGAGED-PLEASE WAIT" indicator shows busy line. Art. 692S separator prevents line blockage.
Bus Termination and Identification
Bus Termination
4-position connector (Fig. 5). Jumper settings (A-B, B-C, C-D) for bus termination (100 ohm or 50 ohm). Optimal setting required for best vision.
- A: No Termination
- B: 100 ohm Termination (Elvox cable)
- C: 50 ohm Termination (CAT5 cable)
Assigning Identification (ID)
4 DIP switches (Fig. 6) assign panel ID. Each panel needs a unique ID. Table 1 shows DIP switch settings for IDs 0-15. Type 692U cannot be MASTER. Position 1 is for factory testing.
Wiring Diagrams
Diagrams illustrate system configurations with main panels, outdoor units (camera/audio), internal units, power supplies, and distributors. Key connections include bus lines, power, lock release, call buttons, status indicators, and name-tag lighting. Distributors (passive Art. 692D, active Art. 692D/2) manage bus devices.
