Installation Options

The 8870.1 intercom unit can be installed in several ways:

• Surface-wall mount or box installation. Can be fitted to the wall with plugs or a 3-module flush-mounted box (Vimar V71303, V71703).
• Flush-mounted box installation. Can be fitted to the wall with plugs or a 3-module flush-mounted box (Vimar V71303, V71703).

A drilling template for wall installation with plugs is provided.

Mounting the Intercom

To separate the base of the intercom from the cover, insert a flat-head screwdriver into the central slit and turn it until the unit clicks open.

Surface Mounting:

1. Fix the top screw (A) in the flush-mounted box (or wall plug), leaving the screw head to protrude by approximately 2 mm.
2. Hook the intercom onto the top screw using the appropriate hole in the back, by placing it close to the wall and then pulling downwards.
3. Complete mounting by screwing the bottom screw (B) into the appropriate hole.

Wiring Diagram and Components

Key Components:

• Power Supply (0931 - 0831): Connects to the mains.
• A - External Audio Entrance Panel (e.g., Patavium series 1200, 1300, 3300, 8000, 8100): The audio unit for the entrance.
• B - Additional Push-button for Lock: An optional button for the electric lock.
• C - Electric Lock 12V~: The electric lock mechanism.
• D - Outdoor Unit (Art. 0930/000.04, 930A): The main outdoor unit.

Conductor Sizing:

Recommended conductor sizes vary based on cable length:

• Up to 50m: Common and lock: 0.5 mm², Others: 0.25 mm²
• Up to 100m: Common and lock: 0.75 mm², Others: 0.5 mm²
• Up to 200m: Common and lock: 1.5 mm², Others: 1 mm²

Compatibility and Regulations

• Compatible with additional 12V AC ringtone (0002/818).
• Installation must be carried out by qualified personnel in compliance with current electrical installation regulations in the country of installation.

• Information for users regarding WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) disposal is provided, emphasizing separate collection and recycling.
