Features
Front Panel
- 1. Power Switch:
- Press this switch to power the DN-470A on or off.
- 2. Level Knobs:
- Turn these knobs to set the output level for each channel.
- 3. Signal/Clip/Protection LEDs:
- These lights indicate the signal status of each channel input:
-
- Signal LED: Illuminates green when receiving a signal at an optimal level.
- Clip LED: Illuminates red when the signal is "peaking" (higher than 0 dB). Turn the Level knob counter-clockwise or reduce the source volume to prevent "clipping" (distortion).
- Protection LED: Illuminates red if the unit enters heat protection mode, disabling sound output. To restore sound, ensure good ventilation and decrease the signal level.
- 4. Air Intake Vents:
- Keep these vents clear of obstructions to ensure proper airflow through the front grill for optimal performance.
Rear Panel
- 1. Power Inlet:
- Connect the included power cable to a power outlet here.
- 2. Fuse:
- If the unit's fuse is broken, lift the tab to replace it with a fuse of the appropriate rating. Using an incorrect rating can damage the unit and/or fuse.
- 3. Inputs:
- Use Euroblock connectors to connect your audio sources. Each channel input features ground (G), cold/negative (-), and hot/positive (+) connectors. Ensure wiring matches these connections.
- 4. Outputs:
- Use Euroblock connectors to connect your loudspeakers. Each channel output has a switch for 70V and 100V operation. Ensure correct wiring for each loudspeaker.
- 5. Operation Mode Switch:
- Select the operation mode (70V or 100V) for each channel's output by adjusting the dip-switches.
- 6. Exhaust Vents:
- Air flows from the front intake through the unit and exits here. Do not block these vents for proper performance.

Very Important
Please read this section before connecting this unit to your system:
For optimum performance:
- Slide faders are subject to wear; excessive force can wear them out quickly. User-replaceable slide faders are not covered by warranty.
- Never use spray cleaners on slide controls, as residues can cause dirt build-up and void the warranty. If controls malfunction due to dirt/dust, consult a professional technician.
- Always ensure AC power is off before making any connections.
- Use appropriate cables. Avoid excessively long cables (over 32 feet / 10 meters). Ensure plugs and jacks are tightly mated, as loose connections can cause hum, noise, or intermittents that could damage speakers. Use readily available low-capacitance stereo cables for input/output connections. Cable quality significantly impacts audio fidelity. Consult your Denon Pro dealer or an audio specialist if unsure about cable selection.
- Never attempt adjustments or repairs not described in this manual. Take the unit to your dealer or an authorized Denon Pro service center.
- Always turn amplifiers on last and off first. Begin with master faders or volume controls at minimum and amplifier gain/input controls down. Wait 8-10 seconds before turning up the volume to prevent transients that could cause severe speaker damage.
- Use restraint when operating controls; move them slowly. Rapid adjustments could damage equipment due to amplifier clipping.
- Avoid amplifier "clipping" (when red LEDs on power amplifiers flash) at all costs. Clipping means the power amplifier is distorting and working beyond its limits, which is a main cause of speaker failure.
- To prevent fire or shock hazard, do not expose the unit to rain or moisture. Never place cans of liquids near or on top of the unit. ⚠️
- Headphone outputs can be set to levels that may cause hearing damage. Use caution.
- This unit may contain a microcomputer for signal processing. In rare situations, severe interference, external noise, or static electricity may cause it to lock up. If this occurs, turn off the unit, wait at least five seconds, and turn it back on.
- Under rare circumstances, exposure to electromagnetic interference during use may cause a slight drop in signal-to-noise ratio.
- Intended electromagnetic environments: residential, commercial, light industrial, urban outdoors.
