Safety Precautions

WARNING

TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE, ELECTRICAL SHOCK, OR INJURY WHEN USING YOUR PORTABLE DEHUMIDIFIER, FOLLOW THESE BASIC PRECAUTIONS:

THE MANUFACTURER DISCLAIMS ANY RESPONSIBILITY IF THE ABOVE INSTRUCTIONS ARE NOT FOLLOWED

Introduction

How it Works

When the dehumidifier is started, the fan begins to pull moisture-laden air across the dehumidifying coils. The coils condense or draw moisture from the air, and air flows through the top louver into the room as dry, warm air. Moisture removed from air is collected in a drain bucket on the front of the dehumidifier.

The appliance is designed to operate between 41°F (5°C) and 96°F (35°C). The "Compressor" circuit has an automatic 3 minute time delayed start if the appliance is turned off and on quickly. This prevents overheating of the compressor and possible circuit breaker tripping. Make sure the drain bucket is fitted correctly otherwise appliance will not turn on.

Parts and Controls

Unit Description

The dehumidifier features a control panel on top, a handle for carrying, a drain bucket at the front bottom, a continuous drainage outlet, and roll castors for mobility. It has a moist air intake and a dehumidified dry air vent, with an air filter located behind the vent. A power cord buckle is provided on the rear for storage.

Power Cord Buckle Installation: For easy storage, install the power cord buckle to the rear of the unit. Once installed, the power cord can be wrapped using the buckle for safe storage.

Control Panel

The control panel includes indicators for Auto Defrost, Full bucket, Timer On/Off, and an RH% and Timer Display. Buttons include FILTER, CONT. (Continuous), TURBO, TIMER, and POWER. There are also '+' and '-' buttons for setting humidity levels and timer durations.

Button Functions:

  1. Filter Button: The check filter indicator reminds users to clean the air filter. The light illuminates after approximately 250 hours of operation. Pressing the Filter button after cleaning resets the indicator.
  2. Continuous Button: Press to activate continuous dehumidifying operation. The Continuous indicator light will illuminate. To stop, press the Continuous button again and set the desired RH percentage to resume normal operation. Note: Humidity Set Control Buttons are disabled in this mode, and the compressor will not stop unless the drain bucket is full or removed.
  3. Turbo Button: Press to engage Turbo Fan mode. Press again to set the unit to Normal Fan mode.

Timer Button:

Press to activate the Timer delay feature.

Humidity / Timer Control Buttons:

Power Button:

Press to turn the dehumidifier on and off.

Energy Saver: When the set RH% is reached, the fan continues to run to avoid high start-up amperage, making the unit energy-efficient. The fan may run continuously or shut off intermittently based on RH% and set humidity.

Indicators and Error Codes

Bucket Full Indicator:

The appliance runs until set RH% is reached or the drain bucket is full. When full, the Full indicator light illuminates, and the dehumidifier stops. Remove and reinsert the bucket to resume operation.

Auto Defrost Indicator:

If frost builds on evaporator coils (operating below 53°F/12°C), the compressor cycles off, and the fan runs until frost evaporates. The Auto Defrost light turns on, and the unit enters defrost mode. Defrost time varies. If frozen, turn off for a few hours and restart. Operation is unsatisfactory below 41°F.

Display:

Shows set % relative humidity (35%-85%RH), Auto Start/Stop times (0.0-24 hours), and approximate room humidity (30%-90%RH).

Error Codes and Protection Code:

Operation Instructions

Air Filters Installation

The portable dehumidifier has a 2-in-1 silver-coated washable pre-filter that removes large particles like dust and pet hair. The silver coating helps kill bacteria and control microbes. WARNING: NEVER OPERATE THE DEHUMIDIFIER WITHOUT THE FILTER.

Start Operation

  1. Ensure the appliance is connected to the power socket.
  2. Make sure the drain bucket is placed in the proper position.
  3. Make sure the filter is installed.
  4. If the bucket full lamp lights up when the unit is first turned on, pull out the drain bucket and push it back to the proper position.
  5. Set the relative humidity level (RH%) using the '+' and '-' buttons. It is recommended to set RH% to at least 10% lower than the current RH%.

Positioning the Unit

This dehumidifier is for indoor residential use only.

NOTE:

Water Drainage Instructions

Collected water needs frequent emptying. This unit offers 3 methods:

1. Drain Bucket Method

  1. When the bucket is full, the Full indicator light illuminates, the compressor and fan turn off, and a P2 code is displayed.
  2. It is recommended to turn the unit off before removing the drain bucket.
  3. Grip the left and right handles securely and carefully pull out the drain bucket. Do not place the bucket on the floor as it may cause spills.
  4. Remove water and replace the bucket properly and securely seated for operation.
  5. The machine restarts when the bucket is correctly positioned. If the unit was turned off before removal, press the Power button to resume.

2. Continuous / Gravity Drain Method

Water can be automatically emptied into a floor drain by attaching a standard drain hose to the continuous/gravity drain outlet. For gravity draining, the unit must be on a level surface or at least 12 inches above the ground. The drain hose must be placed horizontally below the drainage hole. Avoid uneven ground and hose kinks.

  1. Remove the continuous drain cover and attach a drain hose. Ensure it is securely fastened to prevent leakage.
  2. Direct the drain hose toward a drain or suitable outlet. Ensure no kinks obstruct water flow.
  3. Select desired humidity setting and fan speed for continuous draining to start.

NOTE: Some water may collect in the drain bucket even with continuous/gravity drainage.

Maintenance

CAUTION: Always turn off and unplug the dehumidifier before cleaning.

1. Cleaning the Air Grille and Main Unit

2. Cleaning the Bucket

3. Cleaning the Air Filter

Clean the air filter at least every two weeks for efficient operation.

4. End of Season Storage

Tips on When to Use Your Portable Dehumidifier

This dehumidifier is beneficial for controlling moist environments, especially for those with respiratory problems, asthma, and allergies. It helps keep indoor air pollutants manageable, particularly when used with an air purifier. It can also save money by helping furnaces and air conditioners operate more efficiently.

  1. Excess Moisture: Indoor moisture can cause mold and fungus growth, leading to health problems. This dehumidifier reduces indoor moisture, making it harder for harmful mold to grow. It's effective for small areas like hallways or bedrooms.
  2. Respiratory Problems or Allergies: Ideal for larger rooms or areas. Helps with musty conditions and symptoms related to respiratory issues or allergies. It controls relative humidity, which is beneficial for homes with leaky foundations or poor ventilation, or in humid areas. Keeping humidity below 50% helps prevent dust mites and mold.
  3. Basements: Helps keep moisture levels manageable in basements, improving furnace efficiency and eliminating standing water. It also protects furniture, valuables, and electronics.
  4. Humid Climates: In humid climates (e.g., near beaches), it helps maintain a more comfortable indoor environment, improving sleep quality and potentially saving money by controlling indoor humidity and thermostat settings.

Troubleshooting

Many common dehumidifier problems can be resolved with these suggestions:

ProblemPossible CausesSolutions
The dehumidifier does not operate.
  • Power failure / outage.
  • The automatic switch, line fuse, or breaker has been tripped.
  • The power supply voltage is too low.
  • The power cord is damaged.
  • The dryness level you selected has been reached.
  • Drain bucket is full or not positioned properly.
  • Restore the power supply.
  • Flip the switch / change the fuse / turn the breaker back on. Check for overloaded circuits.
