This document serves as the user manual for Blaids Hearing Aids, specifically the Behind-The-Ear (BTE) model. It guides users through the setup, connection, and operation of the hearing aids using a dedicated mobile application.

A. Downloading the Mobile Application

Blaids Hearing Aids can be connected and controlled directly from your mobile phone. To get started, download the dedicated mobile application from your device's app store (iOS or Android).

Steps to Download:

  1. Open your mobile phone's App store.
  2. Search for "Acosound" in the search box.
  3. Download the app.

Following these steps will allow you to search for and download the application, and then initialize it by clicking its icon on your phone's home screen.

B. Connecting Hearing Aids with Mobile Application

Your hearing aids will be automatically detected by the mobile application. Before connecting, ensure that the battery is correctly inserted into the hearing aid.

Connection Steps:

  1. Open the mobile application to initialize the connection process.
  2. Your hearing aids should be automatically detected. If they are not visible, pull down the screen to refresh the list.
  3. Click on the detected hearing aid to initiate the connection with your mobile phone. You will be prompted to choose the position of the hearing aid (Right or Left) as per your ear fitting.

The app will show the hearing aid connecting and then confirm when the connection is successful.

C. Basic Control in the Mobile App

The mobile application provides comprehensive control over your hearing aids, including the ability to take a hearing test directly from home.

Using the Controls:

  1. After connecting your hearing aids, click on the "Start Listening" button to access the main control screen.
  2. Use the on-screen slider to adjust the volume.
  3. Select one of the 4 preset modes to suit your current environmental conditions.

The main screen displays options for "Hearing test", "Current volume", "Remote Fit", and "Troubleshooting". The volume can be adjusted using a slider, and different listening modes are available.

D. Taking the Hearing Test

Blaids enables you to perform a hearing test directly through the mobile app, generating a personalized Audiogram.

Steps for Hearing Test:

  1. Click on "Acosound Autofitting" located at the top center of the mobile app.
  2. Select the ear you wish to test: "Left" or "Right".
  3. Click on "Listening test" to initiate the testing procedure.

Important: Ensure the hearing aid is properly inserted in your ear and that you have selected the correct ear for the test before beginning.

The process involves selecting "Acosound Autofitting", choosing the ear, and then clicking "Listening Test". The app then guides you through the test, prompting you to indicate when you hear sounds.

E. Uploading Audiogram

You can use the mobile application to upload your existing audiogram, which is necessary for remote fitting support.

Steps to Upload Audiogram:

  1. Click on the “Acosound Autofitting” button on the mobile app.
  2. Click on the three dots located on the bottom right corner of the screen.
  3. Select the “Custom Curve” option to upload your Audiogram.

After selecting "Acosound Autofitting" and proceeding through ear selection, you can access the "Auditory Curve" screen where the option to upload a custom curve is available.

G. Trouble Shooting your Hearing Aid

The mobile application can be used to perform basic troubleshooting for your hearing aid.

Troubleshooting Steps:

  1. Click on the "Smart Fitting" button within the mobile app.
  2. Select the specific problem you are experiencing with your hearing aids. The app will automatically adjust the settings for your device accordingly.
  3. Click on "Advanced Regulation" to access and adjust advanced settings such as Treble, Bass, Loud Voice Suppression, or Soft Voice Enhancement.

The "Smart Fitting" option allows you to select common issues like "Howling", "Stuffy, unbreakable", or "Loudly unbreakable" for automatic adjustment. The "Advanced Regulation" section provides granular control over sound characteristics.
