User Guide for the FiiO K17 Portable Audio Player
Product Buttons and Terminals
The FiiO K17 features a comprehensive array of buttons and terminals for versatile operation.
Front Panel:
- Infrared Receiver Port [Do not cover]
- Power On/Off Indicator Light
- Menu Knob with Display: Rotate to switch operation modes, press briefly to confirm, press and hold to return to the previous page.
- Knob Indicator Light
- Volume Knob: Rotate to adjust volume, press briefly to turn off the screen or power off the device.
- XLR4 Balanced Headphone Output
- 6.35mm Headphone Output
- 4.4mm Balanced Headphone Output
- Gain Select Switch
- Analog Output Select Switch
- USB Port [1]
- Reset Hole [Press briefly to reset]
Rear Panel:
- Optical Output
- 12V Trigger Port
- USB-A Port: Suitable for USB flash drives (max output current 500mA). For mobile hard disk drives, use an additional power supply.

Note 1: If both USB ports on the front and rear panels are connected simultaneously, the front port is prioritized and the rear port is disabled.
Note 2: The USB-A port has a maximum output current of 500mA, suitable for connecting USB flash drives. For mobile hard disk drives, please use an additional power supply.
Operation Guide
01 Power On/Off
Power On: Connect power to the rear power input. Turn on the AC power switch, then set the front Power On/Off switch to ON. The device can be switched between standby and operation modes using the infrared remote or 12V trigger input.
Power Off: Set the front Power On/Off switch to OFF. The device cannot be turned on via remote control or 12V trigger input when the power is off.
02 Volume Knob
- Volume Adjustment: Rotate the Volume Knob.
- Screen On/Off: Briefly press the Volume Knob.
03 Menu Knob
- Switch Operation Mode: Rotate the Menu Knob.
- Confirm Menu Selection: Briefly press the Menu Knob.
- Return to Previous Page: Press and hold the Menu Knob.
04 Gesture Operation
- Settings Menu: Slide Left/Right.
- Main Interface: Slide Left/Right to switch between different styles.
- Operation Mode Menu: Slide Up/Down.
05 How to Switch Operation Modes
- USB Mode: Connect to a PC or mobile device. No power consumption from the mobile device when connected. Requires USB DAC driver installation for Windows PCs (refer to FiiO website). Works without drivers on macOS.
- Optical Signal Processing Mode: Connect to an optical output device.
- Coaxial Signal Processing Mode: Connect to a coaxial output device.
- Line Input (Single-ended): Connect an analog signal from an input device to the rear Line Input port for amplification.
- Balanced Input (Balanced): Connect an analog signal from an input device to the rear 4.4mm Line Input port for amplification.
- Bluetooth: Upon first use, it automatically enters pairing mode. Subsequently, it connects to the last paired device. Supports audio playback only, not voice calls.
- Streaming: Supports music playback via AirPlay or Roon when connected to the same LAN as streaming devices.
- Local Playback: Insert a USB flash drive into the rear USB-A port to scan and play music from the drive.
06 DSP Equalizer
All operation modes of the K17 support DSP Equalizer, adjustable via a connected PC or mobile device. For PC use, connect via USB cable and RS232 port, then download the DSP Equalizer software from the FiiO website. For mobile use, scan the QR code in the FiiO app to download the relevant app version.
Note: DSP Equalizer is supported for Headphone Output and Line Output only; it is not supported for Optical Output or Coaxial Output.
07 12V Trigger Port
Allows synchronized power control when connecting two or more devices with trigger ports. Connect the K17 to other devices via the trigger ports using a 3.5mm audio cable to control the K17's power from the connected device.
Note: Power control via the trigger port is possible only when the K17 is powered normally and the front panel Power On/Off switch is set to ON.
08 Infrared Remote Control
The remote control provides access to various functions:

- Previous Track
- Next Track
- Knob Indicator Light Adjustment
- Previous Mode
- Next Mode
- FN1: Add to Favorites
- FN2: Increase Screen Brightness
- FN3: Decrease Screen Brightness
Note: Uses 3 AAA batteries.
Notes and Precautions
- If a system error occurs, try restarting the K17's power or reconnecting the power cable.
- Ensure correct polarity (+ / -) when inserting batteries.
- Do not wear headphones when connecting or disconnecting headphones to/from the K17. Sudden impulse noise may cause hearing damage.
- Use with the appropriate input voltage.
- Connect to a grounded power outlet.
- Do not connect headphones to the trigger port, as the device may be damaged.
- There is a high voltage risk inside the device. Do not disassemble or repair the product arbitrarily.
- Keep away from water.
