ASCO Series 300 Automatic Transfer Switches - 600 Amperes with Group 1 Controls
This document provides wiring diagrams, control features, and physical specifications for the ASCO Series 300 Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS) rated 600 Amperes, equipped with Group 1 Controls.
Control Features
The following features are designed to ensure reliable automatic transfer of power between normal and emergency sources:
- Voltage and Frequency Selection: The transfer switch monitors both normal and emergency source voltages and frequencies to determine availability and initiate transfer.
- Differential Voltage Setting: The switch transfers to the emergency source when the normal source voltage drops below a specified differential setting.
- Single Phase Voltage Sensing: Dedicated sensing for both emergency and normal sources.
- Frequency Sensing: Monitoring of source frequencies for proper operation.
- Non-Failsafe Pickup Setting: A delay setting for transferring to the emergency source.
- Non-Failsafe Normal Pickup Setting: A delay setting for transferring back to the normal source.
- Remote Transfer to Emergency Source: Initiated by a customer-supplied signal to the transfer switch control terminals.
- Remote Transfer to Normal Source: Initiated by a customer-supplied signal to the transfer switch control terminals.
- Engine Start Signal: A signal provided to start the engine when the normal source is unavailable.
- Emergency Source Available Signal: A signal indicating the emergency source is available.
- Normal Source Available Signal: A signal indicating the normal source is available.
- Source Acceptance Delay (Emergency/Normal): Adjustable delay (0-5 seconds) before transferring to a source after it becomes available and the engine is running.
- Emergency Non-Transfer Delay: Adjustable delay (0-5 seconds) for transfer to emergency after engine start and source availability.
- Normal Non-Transfer Delay: Adjustable delay (0-5 seconds) for transfer to normal after engine start and source availability.
- Engine Start Delay: Adjustable delay (0-5 minutes) between normal source voltage drop and engine start signal initiation.
- One Shot Transfer: Ensures a single, uninterrupted transfer motion, preventing hunting between sources even with voltage fluctuations.
- Operator Interface Indicators & Controls: Visual indicators for switch status and manual operation buttons.
- Transfer Switch Test Button: Initiates a test cycle, transferring to emergency and returning to normal.
- Emergency Transfer Button: Initiates an immediate transfer to the emergency source.
- Normal Transfer Button: Initiates an immediate transfer to the normal source.
- Emergency Source Available Indicator: Light indicating emergency source availability.
- Normal Source Available Indicator: Light indicating normal source availability.
Diagram Description: A schematic illustrating various control functions and settings, including voltage/frequency sensing, various delay timers (engine start, source acceptance, non-transfer, available), and operator interface controls like test, emergency transfer, and normal transfer buttons, along with indicator lights for source availability.
Remote Features
These features allow for external control and monitoring of the transfer switch:
- Remote Transfer to Emergency Source: Requires a customer-supplied signal to initiate transfer to the emergency source via control terminals.
- Remote Transfer to Normal Source: Requires a customer-supplied signal to initiate transfer to the normal source via control terminals.
