Gosund Smart Plug User Manual and Setup Guide

This document provides instructions for setting up and using your Gosund Smart Plug.

The Gosund Smart Plug features the following components:

Flame Resistant Material: Ensures safety.
Socket Panel: The main body of the plug that fits into a wall outlet.
ON/OFF Button: Used for manual control and factory reset.
Indicator Light: Shows the operational status of the plug.
Power Plug: The prongs that connect to the electrical outlet.

Note: Press and hold the ON/OFF button for 5 seconds to restore factory settings and erase current configurations.

Getting Started: Setup Guide

Follow these steps to set up your Gosund Smart Plug:

Download the App: Install the 'Gosund' application from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).
Create Account: Open the Gosund App and create a new account, or log in if you already have one.
Plug In: Connect the smart plug to a power outlet.
Prepare for Pairing: Ensure the indicator light on the smart plug is blinking rapidly. If it is not, press and hold the ON/OFF button for approximately 5 seconds until it blinks rapidly. This indicates it's ready for Wi-Fi pairing.
Add Device in App: In the Gosund App, tap the '+' icon, usually located in the top right corner.
Select Device Type: Navigate to 'Electrical' and then select 'Socket (Wi-Fi)' or a similar option for smart plugs.
Enter Wi-Fi Details: Confirm the indicator light is blinking rapidly, then enter your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network name and password. Note: This device is not compatible with 5GHz Wi-Fi networks.
Connect: Tap 'Confirm' to start the connection process. The app will show a 'Connecting...' status.
Success: Once connected, the device will be added successfully. You can rename your smart plug for easier identification (e.g., 'Living Room Plug'). Tap 'Done' to finish.

The smart plug will now appear in your 'My Devices' list within the Gosund App, allowing you to control it remotely.

Voice Assistant Integration

Control your smart plug using voice commands with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

Connecting to Amazon Alexa

Open the Amazon Alexa app.
Navigate to 'Skills & Games' from the menu.
Search for the 'Gosund' skill.
Tap 'Enable to Use' and follow the prompts to link your Gosund account by entering your User ID and password.
Authorize Alexa to access your Gosund devices.
Alexa will then discover your smart plug. You can ask Alexa to discover devices again if needed.

Example command: "Alexa, turn on the [Smart Plug Name]."

Connecting to Google Assistant

Open the Google Home app.
Tap the '+' icon to add a device.
Select 'Set up device', then choose 'Works with Google'.
Search for and select 'Gosund' from the list of services.
Link your Gosund account by entering your User ID and password.
Authorize Google Assistant to access your Gosund devices.
Assign your smart plug to a room in your home.

Example command: "Hey Google, turn off the [Smart Plug Name]."

Troubleshooting

Encountering issues? Here are some common problems and solutions:

Device Offline:

Verify your Wi-Fi router is functioning correctly and has an internet connection.
Ensure the smart plug is within the Wi-Fi signal range.
Try power cycling the smart plug (unplug and plug back in) and restarting your Wi-Fi router.

Cannot Connect to Wi-Fi:

Confirm you are connecting to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. This device is not compatible with 5GHz networks.
Double-check that you have entered the correct Wi-Fi password.
Ensure the indicator light is blinking rapidly during the setup process. If not, perform the factory reset (hold ON/OFF button for 5 seconds).

Indicator Light Status:

Rapid Blinking: The plug is in pairing mode and ready to connect.
Slow Blinking: The plug is attempting to connect to the Wi-Fi network.
Solid Light: The plug is successfully connected to the Wi-Fi network.
No Light: The plug is powered off or may have a malfunction.

Factory Reset

To reset the smart plug to its original factory settings, press and hold the ON/OFF button for approximately 5 seconds. The indicator light will begin to blink rapidly, confirming the reset.

This action will remove all saved configurations and network settings.

Firmware Updates

Keep your smart plug up-to-date by checking for firmware updates within the Gosund App. Updates can improve performance, security, and add new features.

Device Sharing

You can share control of your smart plug with family members. Add their Gosund account details within the app's sharing settings.

Timers and Schedules

Utilize the timer and scheduling features in the Gosund App to automate your smart plug's operation, turning devices on or off at specific times or intervals.
