Important Safety Information
DANGER! RISK OF DEATH OR SERIOUS INJURY!
Electrical Hazards:
- Life-threatening voltages are present in the drive controller. Only qualified electricians may open or work on the device.
- Always disconnect the drive controller from the power supply during installation, maintenance, and repair. Wait for the motor to stop, verify absence of voltage, and secure against re-energization.
- Terminals X1 (L1, L2, L3 - Supply), X2 (U, V, W - Motor), and X6, X7 (Relay contacts) can carry dangerous voltages even when the motor is stopped.
- Ground the device according to DIN EN 61140, VDE 0140, NEC, and relevant standards. The drive controller must be grounded with the motor. Failure to comply can result in death or serious injury.
- If spring elements are not used for adapter plate mounting, an additional connection between the motor and drive controller is required for proper protective conductor connection.
- Insulate unused open cable ends in the motor connection box.
- Use suitable line circuit breakers with the prescribed nominal current.
- Replace damaged parts only with original parts.
- ⚠ DANGER DUE TO ELECTRICAL SHOCK AND DISCHARGE! Wait two minutes (capacitor discharge time) after shut-down.
Burn Hazards:
- ⚠ RISK OF BURNS FROM HOT SURFACES! SERIOUS BURNS TO THE SKIN! Allow the drive controller's cooling elements to cool sufficiently before touching.
Mechanical Hazards:
- ⚠ DANGER! RISK OF DEATH DUE TO RESTARTING MOTORS AND REVOLVING MECHANICAL PARTS! Non-observance can lead to death, serious injury, or material damage. Parameter settings can cause unexpected restarts.

Quickstart Guide
ASM (Asynchronous Motor)
Connect the drive controller to the motor. Use KOSTAL INVERTERapp or KOSTAL INVERTERpc for setup.
Parameter / Motor Data
The system can automatically identify motor parameters. Displayed data includes Voltage (U), Current (I), Speed (n), Power Factor (cos φ), Power (P), and Frequency (f).
Motor Identification
The drive controller performs motor identification to determine characteristics.
Motor Data Calculation: Motor data is calculated based on identification.
Speed Setting: Speed can be adjusted via a potentiometer.
PMSM (Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor)
Refer to specific documentation for PMSM quickstart procedures.
