LOOPSwitch
Compact Effects Loop-switcher / True Bypass
Product Operation
Operation: When the LED is off, the "In" jack is connected directly to the "Out" jack (true-bypass). When the LED is on, the "In" jack is connected to the "Send" jack, and the "Return" jack is connected to the "Out" jack.
This pedal can be used to bypass a single effect, a series of effects, or it can be used as an A/B switcher.
Power Requirements
The LOOPSwitch can be used without a power supply, but if you want the LED indicator to function, a power supply must be connected.
ART recommends the use of a standard 2.1mm 9Vdc center-negative power supply. The LED will work with any voltage from 5-18Vdc. With a 9V supply, the LOOPSwitch will consume less than 3mA.
System and A/B Switch Diagrams
Multi-Pedal "True Bypass" Setup
This diagram illustrates a typical setup for the LOOPSwitch in a multi-pedal configuration, emphasizing "True Bypass" operation. The signal path is as follows:
- FROM GTR: The guitar signal enters the LOOPSwitch via the 'In' jack.
- Send: The 'Send' jack connects to the input of an effects chain (e.g., DELAY, OD/DIST, TUNER pedals).
- Return: The output of the effects chain connects to the 'Return' jack of the LOOPSwitch.
- TO AMP: The 'Out' jack of the LOOPSwitch connects to the amplifier.
When the pedal's LED is off, the signal from 'In' bypasses the effects loop and goes directly to 'Out' (true-bypass). When the LED is on, the signal goes from 'In' to 'Send', and from 'Return' to 'Out', engaging the effects loop.
A/B Switch Configuration
The LOOPSwitch can also function as an A/B switcher. The diagram shows the pedal with distinct input and output configurations:
- Input: Labeled 'In', receives the source signal (e.g., from guitar).
- Output A (LED OFF): When the LED is off, the signal from 'In' is routed to 'OUT A'.
- Output B (LED ON): When the LED is on, the signal from 'In' is routed to the 'Send' jack, and the signal from the 'Return' jack is routed to 'OUT B'.
This setup allows for switching between two different signal paths or amplifiers.
