How to Measure for Rough Opening
Side View: Rough Opening Dimensions
Diagram shows an entry door jamb with brick molding trim. Brickmold should be fully secured to wall studs. There is a 1" inch minimum mounting surface indicated on both sides of the door frame. The diagram labels the horizontal space between the jambs as "Rough Opening Width".

Detailed Measurement Instructions
Measure for Rough Opening Height: Measure from the threshold to the bottom portion of the brickmold header of your entry door.
Measure for Rough Opening Width: Measure the top, middle, and the bottom inside diameter width of the entry doors brickmold opening. The smallest of the three measurements will be your rough opening width.
Use the above sizing chart to determine if a standard size door will fit or a custom sized door is required.
