Grisham Adjustable Gates Installation Instructions

Diagram and Hardware Overview

The diagram illustrates the components of the adjustable gate system:

HINGE-SIDE FRAME (A): The frame section that attaches to the hinges.
LOCK-SIDE FRAME (D): The frame section that houses the lock mechanism.
CENTER-SECTION FRAME (C): The middle section connecting the hinge and lock sides.
LOCK-SIDE STRIKER (B): The component that aligns with the lockbox on the lock-side frame.

HARDWARE CONTENT:

Center and level the hinge side frame (A) onto the mounting surface at the desired location for either surface or recessed mount installation. Mark hinge pilot hole locations. Proceed to drill 1/4" inch diameter pilot holes at the marked locations. Reposition hinge side (A) and secure the hinges with the provided 5/16" x 1.5" non-reversing screws.
Insert the center section (C) onto the three horizontal tubes of the hinge side section (A) and then insert the remaining lock side section (D) into the horizontal center tube of section (C).
Evenly space section (C) between frame sections (A) and (D). Proceed to align the lock side striker pockets (B) with the lockbox on section (D). Leave a 1/4" inch reveal between the lock side frame (D) and the lock side striker (B). Proceed to mark and drill the four pilot holes at the designated lock-side striker locations using a 1/8" drill bit. Secure the lock-side striker (B) with the #8 x 2" non-reversing screws. Fasten screws until they are seated within the tubing cavity. Finish by positioning the cover caps.
With sections A, C, and D in proper alignment with the lock side striker tube (B), drill two 1/8" inch pilot holes at each horizontal overlap of the center section (C). Secure with two of the Phillips head self-tapping screws at each section.
The lock box will accept most 2-3/8 backset locksets sold in the hardware department. (Four machine screws are supplied to secure the lockset striker and deadbolt to the lock box).
