Note on HDMI Cables:

What's in the Box

The package includes:

The included sound calibration microphone stand aids in automatic speaker calibration for an optimized listening environment. You can also use your own tripod.

Attach the Included Cable Labels

Use the supplied cable labels to identify and properly connect speaker and HDMI cables to their corresponding components.

Setup

1. Rotate the Antennas

Rotate the antennas upwards for optimal Bluetooth and Wi-Fi reception.

Optional Network Connection:

If connecting to a wired network, connect an Ethernet cable (not included) between the AVR and your router. Do not connect the Ethernet cable if using a wireless network.

2. Connect the Power Cord

Place the AVR near your TV and connect the power cord to the AVR and then to a power outlet.

3. Connect the AVR to Your TV

Using a high-quality HDMI cable, connect the HDMI OUT TV (ARC/eARC) port on the AVR to the HDMI IN (ARC/eARC) port on your TV.

What is ARC and eARC?

Audio Return Channel (ARC) allows audio to be sent back to the AVR using the same HDMI cable that carries video to the TV. This enables the AVR to process audio from the TV's built-in tuner and apps. Enhanced Audio Return Channel (eARC) supports higher bitrate multichannel audio formats like Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. Consult your TV's owner's manual for eARC compatibility details.

* For 4K TVs, use a "High Speed" HDMI cable with Ethernet.

* For 8K TVs, use an "Ultra High Speed" HDMI cable.

4. Turn On the TV

Use your TV remote control to power on the TV.

5. Select the Appropriate HDMI Input on Your TV

Use your TV remote control to select the HDMI input that the AVR is connected to.

6. Install Batteries in the AVR Remote Control

Open the battery compartment on the remote control, insert the provided batteries (2x R03/AAA), and close the compartment.

7. Turn On the AVR

Press the power button [power-symbol] on the AVR remote control.

8. Verify the Connection

Check your TV screen to confirm that the Denon logo or the initial setup screen is displayed. If not, recheck your connections and repeat the steps.

Note: If the AVR has been previously set up, the Setup Assistant may not start automatically. To access it, press SETUP on the remote control and select "Setup Assistant" from the menu.

9. Follow the On-Screen Setup Assistant

The Setup Assistant will guide you through connecting and configuring your speakers and other components. Use the remote control and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the AVR setup.

Firmware Update

After completing the Setup Assistant, if prompted, select "Update Now" to ensure your AVR has the latest firmware and features. You can also choose to "Update Later".
