Manual Setup Details
Option Setup
Configure various settings:
- GUI: Adjust graphical user interface settings.
- 232C Port (1): Configure connection for external controllers or 2-way remote control units (e.g., RC-7000CI, RC-7001RCI). Options include "Serial Control" for external controllers and "2Way Remote" for compatible remote units.
- Add New Feature: Access and purchase downloadable upgrades for new functionalities. Requires user registration and an on-screen ID.
Master Volume
Adjusts the master volume display during adjustment. Options are "Bottom", "Top", or "OFF". The "Top" setting is recommended if the display obstructs subtitles.
Parameter: Audio Settings
Surround Parameters
Customize surround sound parameters based on selected surround modes. Includes "SB CH Out" for selecting surround back channel playback modes (e.g., STEREO, MATRIX).
Audyssey Settings
Configure Room EQ, Dynamic EQ, and Dynamic Volume for optimized audio performance.
Room EQ
Optimizes frequency response for all speakers or specific speakers. Options: Audyssey, Audyssey Byp. L/R, Audyssey Flat, Manual, OFF.
Dynamic EQ
Enhances sound quality at lower volumes by compensating for human perception and room acoustics, working in conjunction with Audyssey MultEQ® XT. Can be set to ON or OFF. Note: "Tone" and "Night Mode" are unavailable when Dynamic EQ is ON.
Audyssey Dynamic Volume™™
Manages volume level variations between different content types (programs, commercials, movies) to maintain a consistent listening experience. Integrates with Dynamic EQ. Can be set to ON or OFF. Note: Dynamic Volume and Night Mode cannot be used together.
Setting (for Dynamic Volume)
Adjusts the intensity of the Dynamic Volume effect. Options: Midnight (high impact), Evening (medium impact), Day (low impact).
Playback Operations
Preparations
- Turning the Power On: Press <POWER> to enter standby, then <ON/STANDBY> or [POWER ON] to activate. The unit can also be powered on by selecting [SOURCE SELECT] or [QUICK SELECT] in standby mode.
- iPod® Playback: Enables music and video playback from an iPod via a DENON Control Dock (ASD-1R or ASD-11R). Requires connecting the iPod, assigning the input source, and selecting it. The remote control can be set to iPod mode for operation. Users can switch between "Browse mode" and "Remote mode" for content selection and viewing.
Listening to Music
Navigate music libraries by search item or folder, select tracks, and control playback (play, pause, stop, fast-forward/reverse, cue, repeat, shuffle). Status information (title, artist, album) is available.
Viewing Videos (Browse mode)
Select "Videos" from the iPod menu, navigate through search items/folders, and select video files for playback.
Viewing Still Pictures or Videos (Remote mode)
Activate Remote mode by holding [SEARCH]. Select "Photos" or "Videos" on the iPod screen and press ENTER to view. Ensure the iPod's "TV Out" setting is enabled.

Convenient Functions
Quick Select Function
Allows users to store preferred settings for input source, input mode, surround mode, room EQ, Dynamic EQ, Dynamic Volume, and volume level. Set the desired conditions and then press and hold one of the QUICK SELECT buttons to save.
