Installation

General Advice

Prior to setting up your audio system, disconnecting the negative battery terminal from your vehicle is advised. Prior to cutting or drilling screws, please take time to check clearances on both sides of the mounting surface. Be mindful of any potential obstacles such as window tracks and motors. Some vehicles are not symmetrical, making it imperative to double-check both sides of the vehicle.

Crossover Network Mounting

Always mount your crossovers in a location free from moisture and away from moving parts. Crossovers should not be mounted inside door compartments if possible, as doors are not always watertight and moisture may damage your crossover. Your crossover must be connected as shown in this manual; failure to follow these connections may void your warranty and potentially damage your system and vehicle. Failure to properly install the crossovers may void your warranty. If you are uncomfortable with any of the installation steps, it is advised that you contact your local Memphis Audio dealer.

Speaker Installation

SixFive Series coaxial speakers are designed to elevate your audio system to new heights. The flawless sound reproduction from our SixFive Series is unmatched. The dual layer composite fiber material used in our cones is extremely lightweight and rigid, allowing for exceptionally accurate and powerful bass response. The silk dome tweeter centered in the swivel mount housing produces studio-quality highs that bring your music to life. Speakers are designed to elevate your audio system beyond your expectations.

Wiring Diagram Description

The wiring diagram illustrates the connection of the Memphis Audio VIV60V2 coaxial speakers to an amplifier via crossovers. It depicts an example setup using an amplifier (labeled VIV200.2) connected to Left and Right Crossovers. Each crossover then splits the audio signal to separate terminals for the Woofer (+ WF -) and Tweeter (+ TW -). While the VIV60V2 are coaxial speakers, meaning the woofer and tweeter are integrated into a single unit, this diagram shows the conceptual signal path to these distinct driver types.

Crossover Adjustments

Tweeter Adjustment (+/- 3 dB)

The crossover features switches to adjust the tweeter output level. Options include +3dB, 0dB, and -3dB relative to the default setting. This allows users to fine-tune the high-frequency response to their preference and vehicle acoustics.

Graphical Representation: A graph shows three distinct curves representing the tweeter's frequency response at 5kHz, 10kHz, and 20kHz for each of the three settings (+3dB, 0dB, -3dB).

Woofer Crossover Slope (6dB/12dB)

Users can select the crossover slope for the woofer between 6dB per octave and 12dB per octave. This affects how the woofer's output rolls off as frequency increases, influencing the blend with the tweeter.

Graphical Representation: A graph illustrates the woofer's frequency response with two curves, one for the 6dB slope and one for the 12dB slope, showing the attenuation at frequencies above the crossover point (e.g., 5kHz, 10kHz, 20kHz).
