Getting Started
Start the machine for the first time
- Place the machine on a flat surface. Plug it in to turn it on in stand-by mode, with the power button illuminated halfway. Fill the water tank with cold pure water. Insert the filter cup into the filter handle, and secure it onto the brewing head by turning anti-clockwise from "INSERT" to "LOCK" position, without coffee. Ensure the knob is horizontal ("OFF" position).
- Start the machine with the power button. The lights will turn fully on, and the one-cup and two-cup buttons will start blinking.
- When the buttons stop blinking, pre-heating is done. Press the one-cup button to start the brewing process. Note: Initial pumping may produce noise; this is normal as the machine releases air. The noise will stop after about 20 seconds.
- When brewing is finished, remove the filter handle by turning clockwise. Clean the filter and drip tray. The machine is now ready for use. Note: The machine will automatically turn off after 20 minutes of inactivity.
Make espresso coffee
- Insert the one-cup filter cup into the filter handle. Add one spoon of ground coffee and tamp it down firmly; or use an E.S.E. (Easy Serving Espresso) pod and place it in the filter cup. E.S.E. pods contain 7 grams of pre-measured, tamped coffee sealed between fine filter paper layers.
- Attach the filter holder to the brewing head by turning anti-clockwise from "INSERT" to "LOCK" position.
- Place a warm cup on the drip tray. When pre-heating is done and the one-cup, two-cup, and steam indicator lights are fully lit, press the one-cup button to start brewing.
- The machine will stop automatically when brewing is complete.
- To brew 2 cups of espresso, press the two-cup button.
- Note: If both the one-cup and two-cup buttons blink quickly, you can press either button to cancel brewing or proceed to step 11.
- (Step 10) You can restart brewing after cooling the boiler. Turn the steam knob to the hot water/steam nozzle position to release hot water. The pump stops automatically when cooled. Turn the knob off and resume brewing.
Make hot water
- When pre-heating is done and the one-cup, two-cup, and steam indicator lights are fully lit, turn the steam knob to the hot water/steam nozzle position. Hot water will flow from the nozzle. Turn the knob off when the desired amount is reached.
Froth Milk and Make Cappuccino/Latte
- Fill a jug with 100ml (for cappuccino) or 200ml (for latte) milk. Ensure the jug diameter is no less than 70±5mm and its capacity can hold twice the milk volume after frothing.
- When pre-heating is done and the one-cup, two-cup, and steam indicator lights are fully lit, press the steam button. The indicator will start blinking. Note: Use cold milk from the refrigerator (NOT HOT!).
- When the steam button stops blinking, the steam/milk frothing function is ready. Before frothing, push the steam nozzle towards the drip tray and turn the steam knob to release steam until no water comes out. Turn off the steam function by returning the knob to the horizontal "OFF" position.
- Immerse the steam nozzle about 2cm below the milk surface. Turn on the steam knob. Position the nozzle to create a vortex, making the milk turn in one direction from top to bottom inside the jug.
- When the desired foam level is reached, turn off the knob. Note: Clean the steam nozzle immediately with a damp sponge after steam stops. Be careful not to get burned! The pump automatically stops after 3 minutes of frothing.
- Pour the frothed milk into the prepared espresso. Sweeten to taste and optionally sprinkle with cocoa powder. Note: After frothing, you can immediately make espresso again by pressing the one-cup or two-cup button. If the one-cup and two-cup buttons blink quickly, cool down the boiler and resume brewing (see step 11).
DIY / VOLUME
- When pre-heating is done and the one-cup, two-cup, and steam indicator lights are fully lit, press and hold the one-cup or two-cup button for 3 seconds to start the reset mode. Press the one-cup or two-cup button to start brewing and press again to stop when the desired volume is reached. The volume is now saved for future use.
- To restore factory default settings, simultaneously press and hold the one-cup and two-cup buttons for 3 seconds.
Cleaning and Care
- Turn off and unplug the machine. Allow it to cool completely before cleaning. Wipe all outer surfaces with a damp cloth. Regularly clean the water tank, drip tray, and drip grid. Never use caustic or abrasive cleaners, and never immerse the machine in liquid. Note: Only the filter cups are dishwasher safe.
- Detach the filter handle by turning it clockwise. Remove coffee residue or used E.S.E. pods. Extract the filter cup from the filter holder, rinse with clean water, and dry thoroughly.
Descaling
- Descaling is recommended when all indicators blink 5 times with 5 beeps upon turning on the machine. The warning will repeat twice more if descaling is not performed or cancelled by simultaneously pressing the one-cup, two-cup, and steam buttons for 3 seconds. Failure to descale regularly may lead to issues not covered by warranty due to scale buildup.
- Fill the water tank to the 300ml mark with water, then add a descaling agent (or a 1:1 water and vinegar solution). Use only environmentally friendly descaling agents and follow the manufacturer's instructions. When pre-heating is done and the one-cup, two-cup, and steam indicator lights are fully lit, simultaneously press and hold the one-cup and steam buttons for 3 seconds to start the descaling process. During descaling, the one-cup and two-cup buttons will blink slowly one after another. Once complete, the machine returns to stand-by mode. Perform steps 1-4 twice before using the machine again.
