Specifications

Product: Intelligent Air Purifier + HEPA + UV-C

Model No.: AC3000

Brand: GermGuardian

Air Cleaning System

Improve your indoor air quality with your new Germguardian Air Purifier. The HEPA filter captures allergens and includes a charcoal filter layer to help reduce household odors. The UV-C light helps to reduce airborne germs.

Diagrams and Components

Unit Overview: The GermGuardian Airsafe+ air purifier is a cylindrical device. The top surface features an air outlet grille, a UV-C button, and a Power/Speed Setting button. The front displays the 'germ guardian' logo and the 'intellisense ai™ Air Quality Monitor'. Air inlets are visible on the sides. The power cord emerges from the rear, and the bottom is covered by a filter cover.

Control Panel: The control panel includes a 'UVC Reset' button (press 3 sec.) and a 'UV-C' button. Below these is a rotary dial with settings for 'Auto', 'Off', and fan speeds (indicated by icons). A 'Filter Reset' button (press 3 sec.) is also present.

Air Purification System Components: The system comprises three main components: a UV-C Bulb, a HEPA Filter, and an Activated Carbon Filter, which are stacked vertically inside the unit.

Operating Instructions

Before Operating the Air Purifier:

  1. Select a firm, level, and flat location for the air purifier.
  2. For proper air flow, locate the unit at least 1 foot [0.3 meters] from any wall or furniture.
  3. Ensure none of the grills are blocked.
  4. Plug the power cord into a 120V AC outlet.

Operating the Air Purifier (Power Button):

Press the power button:

  • ONCE: Turns the unit on and sets it to Auto mode. The Auto Mode indicator will turn on.
  • TWICE: Sets speed to 1 (Low). The low fan speed indicator will turn on.
  • THREE times: Sets speed to 2 (Medium). The medium fan speed indicator will turn on.
  • FOUR times: Sets speed to 3 (High). The high fan speed indicator will turn on.
  • FIVE times: Enters Sleep mode. The air quality monitor on the front will flash for 10 seconds, all lights will turn off, and the purifier will run at low fan speed.
  • SIX times: Powers the unit off.

UV-C Button:

Press the UV-C button to turn the UV-C light on. The button will illuminate when the UV-C light is on. Press again to turn it off.

What is Auto Mode?

In Auto Mode, the fan speed automatically adjusts based on the air quality level in the room. If the Air Quality Monitor (AQM) detects higher particle levels, the purifier will increase fan speed. Once air quality improves, it will lower the speed. Leaving the purifier in Auto mode 24/7 is recommended for best results.

To exit Auto Mode, press the power button again to cycle through the remaining speed levels.

What is Sleep Mode?

In Sleep Mode, the air purifier runs at Speed One with no lights, while still filtering the air. To exit Sleep Mode, press the power button again; the unit will shut off.

Air Quality Monitor (AQM)

The Air Quality Monitor senses and detects the amount of particulate matter (PM2.5) in the air. The light on the front of the unit changes colors to indicate the air quality level in the room. The fan speed in 'AUTO' mode is selected based on the detected particulate matter.

Light Color Particulate Matter Value (Range) Air Quality Status Auto Fan Speed
Green 0-100 Good 1
Yellow 101-200 Average 2
Red 201-500 Poor 3

Cleaning and Maintenance

General Cleaning:

  • Always unplug the appliance before you clean it.
  • Never immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid.
  • Never use aggressive or flammable cleaning agents such as bleach or alcohol to clean any part of the appliance.

Body of the Appliance:

Regularly clean the inside and outside of the body to prevent dust from collecting.

  1. Wipe away dust with a soft dry cloth from the body of the appliance.
  2. Clean the air inlet and the air outlet with a soft dry cloth.
