Reading the Display
The watch display shows different information depending on the mode:
- Regular timekeeping mode: Displays hour, minute, second, AM/PM indicator, day of the week (SU, MO, TU, WE, TH, FR, SA), date, alarm-on-mark, and time-signal-on-mark.
- Daily alarm mode: Displays hour and minute for the alarm setting, and the alarm-on-mark.
- Stopwatch mode: Displays stopwatch time (e.g., 00:0000).
- Time/calendar setting mode: Displays hour, minute, second, day of the week, and date during setting.
Day of the Week Abbreviations: SU (Sunday), MO (Monday), TU (Tuesday), WE (Wednesday), TH (Thursday), FR (Friday), SA (Saturday).
12-hour/24-hour Format: In regular timekeeping mode, press button [A] to switch between 12-hour and 24-hour formats.
Stopwatch Operation
A signal confirms start/stop operation. The stopwatch display is limited to 59 minutes 59.99 seconds. For longer times, reset and start again.

- Press [A] to Stop
- Press [A] to Re-start
- Press [A] to Stop
- Press [C] to Reset
(b) Split time measurement
- Press [A] to Start
- Press [C] to Split (record first runner's time)
- Press [C] to Split release (record second runner's time)
- Press [A] to Stop
- Press [C] to Reset
(c) 1st-2nd place times
- Press [A] to Start
- Press [C] to Split (record first runner's time)
- Press [C] to Split release (record second runner's time)
- Press [A] to Stop
- Press [C] to Reset
Setting Daily Alarm
If the daily alarm is set, a buzzer sounds for 20 seconds at the preset time daily until cleared. To stop the buzzer, press button [L]. If the time signal is set, the watch sounds every hour on the hour.
Sound Demonstration: Press and hold button [A] in alarm mode to sound the buzzer.
Hour Setting:
In daily alarm mode, press button [L] to set the hour. Each press of button [A] advances the hour by one. Press button [L] to complete the hour setting.
Minute Setting:
Press button [L] to set the minute digits. Each press of button [A] advances the minute by one. Press button [L] to complete the minute setting.
Note: If button [C] is pressed, the watch reverts to the regular timekeeping mode.
Quick Digit Advance: When button [A] is pressed for more than 2 seconds, the digit advances quickly. Releasing the button stops the advance.
Setting Daily Alarm and Time Signal On/Off
Control the daily alarm and hourly time signal by pressing button [A] in the appropriate mode:
- Alarm and Time Signal On: The alarm-on-mark and time-signal-on-mark appear. The daily alarm and time signal sound.
- Alarm and Time Signal Off: The alarm-on-mark and time-signal-on-mark disappear. The daily alarm and time signal do not sound.
- Alarm Only On: The alarm-on-mark appears. The daily alarm sounds.
- Time Signal Only On: The time-signal-on-mark appears. The time signal sounds.
Setting Time and Calendar
IMPORTANT: Setting sequence must be followed when making any new setting.
To enter the time/calendar setting mode from regular timekeeping mode, press button [C] three times.
Second Adjusting:
Press button [A] to adjust seconds. For precise timekeeping, correct seconds monthly using a radio, TV, or telephone time signal.
Hour Setting:
Press button [L] to move to the hour setting. Press button [A] to increase the hour number.
Minute Setting:
Press button [L] to move to the minute setting. Press button [A] to increase the minute number.
Month Setting:
Press button [L] to move to the month setting. Press button [A] to increase the month number.
Date Setting:
Press button [L] to move to the date setting. Press button [A] to increase the date number.
Day Setting:
Press button [L] to move to the day setting. Pressing button [A] advances to the next day. Press button [C] to complete the setting.
Quick Digit Advance: When button [A] is pressed for more than 2 seconds, the digit advances quickly. Releasing the button stops the advance.
Skipping Settings: If a digit correction is not required, press button [L] repeatedly to skip to the next setting.
Auto Return: If no button is operated for a few minutes while a selection is flashing, the flashing stops, and the watch automatically returns to the regular timekeeping mode.

- Calendar system: Auto-calendar set for 28 days for February.

- Stopwatch mode:
- Measuring capacity: 59 minutes 59.99 seconds.
- Measuring unit: 1/100th of a second.
- Measuring modes: Normal time, net time, split time, and 1st-2nd place times.
- Battery: One lithium battery (type: CR2016, except Module 1271; BR2020 for Module 1271 only).
- Battery Life: Approx. 7 years for CR2016 (except Module 1271); 10 years for BR2020 (Module 1271 only). (Assumes alarm operation for 20 seconds/day and one light operation for 1 second/day).
NOTE: Unit components cannot be damaged or malfunction due to misoperation of buttons. If confusing information appears on the display, it means the entry sequence was incorrect. Please read the manual and try again.
