Stilo History Timeline

1999: Foundation.

2003: First company worldwide to create a Bluetooth intercom for motorbikes.

Why Stilo?

The name Stilo comes from the tool used by the Bronze Age to write, to imprint their first thoughts, their first ideas, their first concepts. In time the word "stilo" evolved to "style", that is the way each person uses a stilo: your own style. And Stilo's style is that of making products that leave a mark, exactly like a stilo in our ancestors wax boards.

2009: Stilo develops ST-30, the world's first intercom featuring 2 circuits, one in use and one for backup. First World Touring Car Championship victory with Gabriele Tarquini.

The PURO Technology

Stilo broadens and perfects the professional helmets range made in carbon fiber through the PURO technology. The PURO technology, developed in the new Stilo production unit for composite materials, permits the external coating to be eliminated. This delivers a further reduction in weight and actually converts it into a driver-car performance improving element. Each piece is produced with maximum care by specialized operators and becomes a unique piece. Conception, development and realization of the helmets are 100% made in Italy. The PURO technology applies to all carbon fiber helmets: FIA8860-2018 range with ST5 ZERO 8860, ST5 8860, WRC DES ZERO 8860, WRC 8860 and FIA8859 with ST5 Carbon and WRC DES Carbon.

Stilo reinvents karting dedicated safety products by introducing the innovative rib protector Stilo Carbon Curva. Stilo Carbon Curva adds flexibility to the well known lightness and high resistance features of carbon fiber. This cutting edge protector results in a flexible fit by following and adapting to the driver's body, protecting him/her from impact without limiting movement or breathing. Available in the following sizes: Small, Medium and Large, Stilo Carbon Curva is also equipped with adjustable braces for a perfect fitting at all heights and body types, from kids to adults. ST5FN ABP

Description: The ST5FN ABP is the first helmet to be certified to the new FIA 8860-2018 standard, offering higher safety degrees while maintaining dimensions and weight. ABP is the acronym for: Advanced Ballistic Protection. The ABP replaces the current zylon panel required by FIA in the previous generation of FIA 8860-2010 helmets, integrating a stronger protection into the front part of the helmet shell. A brand new test was specifically introduced to test the area, based on military ballistic specifications with a projectile shot at a 250 km/h speed.

• QUICK COUPLING: Quick coupling for drinking system with anti-backflow valve. The coupling assembly is designed to allow the driver a quick evacuation. In case of emergency indeed, by just a slight tug, the coupling slips off releasing the driver.

• TOP AIR SYSTEM KIT: The exclusive Stilo "Top Air System" takes fresh air to the driver's head and nose. With the innovative system for the air flow regulation you can favor the air flow on the driver's face for a better breathing or for cooling the driver's head. The Top Air System can be fitted onto ST5 Formula and GT models. Thanks to the fixation system you can fit it more than once replacing the dedicated fixation tape.

Car-pit

Radio Basic Kit & Radio Team Kit

The radio kit is the basic configuration for communication via radio between one car and the engineer at the box. The driver will have one radio, the connection wirings to his helmet, a car antenna and the PTT button to decide when to start and stop the communications. The engineer instead will have a portable radio with antenna and belt clip, one headset with a noise cancelling microphone and the connection cable for the portable radio. The communication can also be extended from one engineer to more people at the box through the Radio Team kit version that features 3 portable radios for the pit. Both versions can be prepared according to the type of car and to the type of radios devices that the team prefers: analogical, digital or digital advanced. GT cars can be equipped with a car radio, fed through the car battery while Formula single seaters will have a portable radio. All kits come with a practical case for the transportation and the recharge of the radio devices and the headset. The radio programming software cables are always included as well to allow the maximum flexibility and ease of use in any race. Like with all radio systems, the BASIC and the TEAM kit can be implemented or integrated in a wider system, simply modifying the device programming.

Verbacom Club Bluetooth

Car Equipment

The club unit is totally transportable for use in any vehicle or kart. The main Bluetooth unit (1) is self-powered and connects to a mobile phone (mobile phone not supplied) which is mounted in the car. This unit has volume controls and a visible system status light for the driver, and also an on/off switch. Weighing just 66 gr and measuring 74 x 47 x 15 mm it is extremely small and light. Helmet wiring (3) with an extension cable connects into the driver's helmet (AE0300 and AE0315 are required should your helmet have no wiring).

Pit Equipment

Noise reduction headsets are self-powered and have either a single or double Bluetooth unit subject to the system you buy. These connect to a mobile phone (not supplied) by Bluetooth for communication with the car, or wirelessly to the second pit headset (1).

How it works

Verbacom offers drivers a cost effective and very efficient car to pit communication system by using mobile phones. The Pit wall phone calls the car phone before the car starts, the car unit is programmed to automatically answer and the phone call is kept open keeping the car and Pit unit continually connected until switched off. The communication between units is always open, the pit crew press the push to talk button on the headset to transmit to the driver, whilst the driver can simply speak without pressing any button thanks to the digital noise cancellation that cancels all background noises. If for any reason the signal is lost and call is dropped? The pit phone automatically calls the car which answers it for the driver. It is as easy as that.
